Day 4 of a planned 5 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting

Really not motivated to diet this week, and just going through the motions. I have not 🏃🏾‍♂️ run in nearly 2 weeks! I have only been to the gym 2 days in the past two weeks.

I think the pounds are dropping simply because I am not 🕳 digging the hole any deeper. Meaning, it is the days I don’t gain weight that allow me to ‘eventually’ achieve my goal of losing weight. Currently that is 5 days of ‘no solid food fasting’ balanced against 2 days of eating what I want (and digging the hole deeper).

That “balance” normally works out, and even allows me to slowly experience a net loss over time. However, this weekend I will have a 3-day weekend and I do not expect any net loss 👎🏾🤦🏾‍♂️.

This is also another week that shows me counting calories never adds up. I am taking in around 1200 calories a day and dropping 2 pounds a day without any exercise? It is water weight being added and lost and that is directly related to things like the glycogen in my body, and that glycogen is produced primarily from carbs (and protein!).

But, here is the point, it is not *all* from dietary (meaning food I eat) sources, but, when I lose ‘net’ weight, it is from burning fat. I am trying to ‘burn fat’ that I probably added to my body 3 months ago. For me, in the end, body fat reduction is all that matters.

The scale can swing 8-12 pounds in either direction, and my calorie level can rise and fall from 10%-500% with no significant fat gain or loss. I only lose net pounds when I am in extended periods of burning fat.

Basically, the only way for me to lose fat is to have my body in the mode of burning fat. Depleting my body of glycogen and forcing it to ‘refill’ by burning fat, not 'dietary carbs', is what causes me to reduce my fat.

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

You haven’t been running in 2 weeks!? Is the weather bad? Are you feeling ill? I definitely know what you mean about “going through the motions” But ya gotta find some way to trigger a change. Or enjoy the down time for now and maintain. You know what to do when you are ready.
