Feeling inspired by Chriss's arm pic, and figured I should have one here too. Maybe I'll even do away with the old french fries avatar (haven't had fries in a while anyway lol

So here's what I look like mid-workout and post-workout at 298 pounds. I have a "before" picture of me back in October at 328 pounds. I'll try to find it again now that I've swapped phones!

The one with the phone and my other arm blocking my chest was mid-work out -- post squat and bench press, but pre-dead lift. The other one was on the way out of the gym.

Today's lifts:

5 squats with 155 pounds as a warm up, then 5 sets of 5 at 235 pounds.

5 bench press reps at 185 as a warm up, then 5 sets of 3 at 230 pounds.

3 sets of 5, then a set of 3, and then a final set of 5 deadlifts at 335 pounds.

I'm working toward the 1,000-pound mark, but I've got a way to go. I've tested 1RM on the bench (265) and squat (295). I haven't tested on the deadlift, but according to a 1RM calculator, 5 reps at 335 should have me at an estimated 1RM of about 385 pounds. We'll see later this week how accurate that is!

So I just need to pick up about 55 pounds spread out across those three lifts, and I'll be at the 1,000-pound mark. So far, it looks like bench press and deadlift are the two lifts I'm gaining the fastest in.
298.0 lb Lost so far: 58.0 lb.    Still to go: 48.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

You look like hubby old workout partner! More facial hair though (and longer). What is it about you men? The pick of before and after workouts to show the ‘pump’. I’ve yet to see or feel this pump men talk about. I feel like a wet noodle and hope nobody asks me to flex for a pic because I’m too tired for that at that point lol. Nice biceps btw.

Have some sodium and some candy before your workout and then do something light for high reps. If you don't achieve any kind of pump after that, you may not be able to no matter what, haha.

Thanks princess! I honestly don’t feel pumped based on what I’ve read saying it feels like. I always feel like a wet noodle lol. Go to near failure mostly and don’t do long and slow lately (low weights, more reps and slow overall). I’ll try that the next time I’m at the gym and hubby allows me enough time. Probably Friday :). And candy!

Hah! Don't know about post-woek our pump. I think my arm looked better after some lifting, but before deadlifting like 7700 pounds in 15 minutes or so. I was fairly wrecked after that. I usually wrap up my lifts with military press, but I just didn't have anything left after that

Quick burning carbs for energy to get higher reps. There are bodybuilders who have intraworkout sour patch kids to keep their energy up. Figured she would have a better chance of a pump that way. The sodium would be a much bigger factor for a pump though. A pump isn't necessary at all for growth, some people just enjoy it.

Also faster reps can help, they don't have to be full range of motion either.

Ah, that makes sense. U won't lie -- I'd rather show off my arms, chest and shoulders immediately after a workout than before lol. But while I'm hoping to lose the gut and look a bit better shirtless, my ultimate goal is to be able to pick up as much weight as possible. That's why even my body weight has become secondary to the numbers I'm seeing in the gym.

ER, that should say I won't lie. New phone, and I'm not quite accustomed to the keyboard yet!

Dude, that's an awesome idea. If all I have to do is begin the motion, I know I can blast out a 1,000 three-lidt total! And I guess I have developed a bit of a leprechaun hulk look, haven't I?😂 You should know you left a digit of my height tho. That's 5'10", not 5'1" 😋
