reganshale's Journal, 03 June 2018

Ok. I have been thinking like a bratty kid. I told myself that everyone else got Dairy Queen, so I should be "allowed", too. Duh! I'm 48 years old. What is WRONG with me?! I am traveling back home on June 30, for the first time in 2 years, and I'd love to be 10 pounds down. That's still doable, but not if I continue to sabotage myself! My new plan is to jump on here before I eat anything, and draw inspiration from you all. Hopefully it will serve as a reminder of what I am working toward. Thanks in advance!

Take one day at a time and work toward that goal. And 48 is young and will be a very good year! Good luck.

Are you logging 100% of your daily intake? If not yet, please consider doing so, as this is the first step. 10# by the end of the month is money in the bank if you get your mind right, get a plan, and get to work. Let's go! #getserious #mindset #grindtime

when I can't stand it anymore, I get myself the ice cream or whatever it is. then I pay attention as I eat and "let it go" as soon as I'm not truly enjoying it anymore. usually it's only a few bites, sometimes it's the whole thing (followed by veggie soup or salad to keep my day from being too far off track). yes, it's wasted food, but it'd be wasted on my hips if I ate it all and over time I've started feeling less deprived than if I were just telling myself "no" all the time. Not that you asked, it's just a tool for your toolbox! Good luck.

This may sound over simplistic, but it takes takes practice— Just say “NO, THANK YOU.”

You can do this :) I certainly have done my share of sabotaging myself but I'm determined not to do it this time. There is the thing of being off track for one meal but make up for it the next one or next day. Looking forward to your future posts. Enjoy life, make the best choices that you can.
