Random Waist-In. Visibly leaner with the surprise massive overnight 4.4# drop, so I measured waist just for sags. 33 1/2". Had to get glasses and check twice. At yesterday's weigh in my waist was 34 7/8". WTF? I have never seen a 1 3/8" overnight waist drop. Or anything even close. Here's the chronology. Waist on 5/3 - 34 3/8" (near low for this cut). Waist on 5/6 - 34 7/8" (bloated from lift day + 170g of pasta carbs). Waist on 5/7 - 33 1/2" (down 1 3/8" overnight + down 3/4" from prior low last Sunday morning, pre-refeed.
Not sure what the lessons are from this? Re-Feed with abandon? Eat pasta post workout? Sleep 12 hours?
WTFE. Win taken.

I've seen the same thing Jimmie....so probably both...when I carb up I get visably "bigger", when I don't get enough sleep my anticipated weight losses are smaller.

@SL I hear you; but it's more than the carb up. My incremental carbs were 150g, which should roughly translate into 1.7#. I dropped that plus another 2.7#.

@RG I cycle cals (1,000/1,5000) and carbs (25/WFE) eod on rest/lift days (leangains style). So, in some small sense, I refeed eod. I don't have an exact "big" refeed schedule, but easter was one month in or so. Memorial day is another month. So that seems like a manageable sustainable pace for me.

Truthfully, the most important thing for me is consistency - being more mindful/intentional and less extreme in my dieting/eating. That means giving myself permission to eat, but trying to stay close to plan and menu, and avoiding unscheduled binging. After the first couple months last time, I had gotten into a cut-cut-cut-cut-binge cycle, with the binges becoming more frequent (5-10 days) and less controlled.

Hi Jimmie,
I have to say I dodge pasta and bread when I can, I have an instant weight gain when I eat them.
Cheers,
Diabloman
