BigEddie101's Journal, 22 April 2020

A little over a year ago I weighed around 210 pounds. When my daughter was born she spent almost 60 days in the NICU where we found out she has an ultra rare terminal disorder. I spent those 60 days eating out of vending machines and never working out. When she was released it’s was 4 to 5 doctors appointments a week for months until we got her symptoms under control. I’ve let myself go horribly. Given the added stress of having to work 2 jobs because my wife has to quit her job I literally ate whatever I could grab. I’ve gained close to 100 pounds in a year. Well now my daughter is considered stable and she is doing as well as we could ever hope and pray for. So now I have to focus on me. I have to drop this weight so I will be around to take care of her and my family. Im not going to do a fad diet. It’s lifestyle changes that work. So please pray for me and my family.

You can do this Eddie. It takes time to lose that much. Once you start losing, the more you want to lose. Use your food diary and keep track of everything you eat. That is really helpful, because you don't realize how much you eat until you start writing it down.

I’ll be praying bigeddie! Any guy who works two jobs, so his wife can stay home and care for their child in need has my utmost respect. My very best to you and your family. I hope your daughter will do great under the conditions and that you’ll successfully drop the weight. I feel a confidence that you will!! 🙏🙏❤️❤️

I'm rooting for you bigeddie. What has helped me is thinking of dieting in terms of baseball. You can go 0-4 one day, 4-0 the next, but what matters is your batting average over the long term. No one day will make or break you, but ultimately every day does matter. Unlike baseball though, you have to hit better than .300 :)
