I am an older retired lady. Dr wants me to lose weight and do more exercise. I have been on Atkins since March 29,2013 and I have lost 50 pounds. It has been good to me and I feel a lot better. I have three grown kids and 4 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. I love to golf and take the g kids to Silver Dollar City. This summer has been fun. My husband and I just celebrated our 50th in April of 2013. I reached my goal weight in October of 2013 and I have been successfully maintaining since then. I love my new look. It is crucial that I keep a close eye on what I consume so i stay here at FatSecret to manage my food intake and get positive reinforcement from other food aholics.

Weight loss
I do mostly low carb, but throw in some calories when the low carb gets too boring. When I am satisfied with some carbs, I alway go back to low carb.

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I don't weigh every day because the scale fluctuates and I can't bear to see the scale go up when I have tried so hard. I weigh once a week. I get out of bed on weigh-in day go to the bathroom and strip off my PJs and weigh before I have anything to eat. I have found out that 8 ounces of water or coffee actually weigh 8 ounces! I don't want those extra 8 ounces on the scale with me.

How to delete a food added by accident?
there is a very small x directly across from the food that you want to delete. Just click on that x and it will delete the food you don't want there.

creating and saving my recipes
I have a lot of pending recipes. It doesn't mean anything except they wont post to the public for viewing. this is a great tool for figuring out the calories /fat/carbs/fiber. You can click on any of your pending recipes to add to your food diary. right below the title of your pending recipe in small letters it reads "add to food diary"
