I’ve gained 4# since my last scan. 3 of that was fat 😭 😭 😭. 1# muscle gain. Wondering if that’s usual for a post menopausal cancer survivor. She said it’s the snickers that gained the fat :/. 1/2 per month! She recommended hormones which I can’t take :/. Oh well. Off to eat my sorrows with some Olive Garden!

What kind of scan did you do? Olive Garden sounds lovely.

It’s a lunar prodigy body scan. Kinda like a full body X-ray.

That’s exactly what I said Chris. The lady confirmed it lol. Damn snickers. Those breadsticks are calorie free too I think. Right?? 😳

How does one confirm fat gain from a single food item? More like it was a calorie surplus and the fact that we can't gain muscle as fast as we'd like.

Probably hard to be accurate... that would be my guess. It is possible that menopausal and post menopausal women to want to store fat or hang on to fat as that is where some of the hormones we do not make much of anymore are stored hence the roundness of some of us.

Diablo, she mentioned the sugar, fat and carb contents of the snickers and my ‘bad diet’ Lol. I used snickers as my way of getting 200-300 kcal surplus. I would guess it’s more menopause than anything else for me.

The only good thing about the scan was my bone density went up 0.03#. Not much BUT for someone flirting with osteopenia it’s huge. It means I’m slowly gaining some bone back rather than losing it. So there is that.

In a calorie surplus it’s almost impossible to gain muscle without gaining fat with it.

WAIT. Breadsticks aren't calorie free?!? PS--ate a Snickers last evening...still alive.

@kenny yep. Just didn’t think I’d gain 2.6# fat for only a 1.4# muscle gain. It’s almost double! Most of my days I’m at expenditure or up to 300 over. Twice a month is usually a splurge from eating out lately (games etc where we eat out or kids eat at 10pm :/ ).

@terrapin lol. I wish they were! Brought two home. I ate my snickers too and still alive. Said to heck with it last night. Hubby bought me a king size as a joke and told me he didn’t care about those few pounds as I was still hot (not a joke). I opted for a regular snickers due to eating at Olive Garden yesterday. I’ll save the king size or give to the kids. They are stealing my snickers left and right! I buy 12 at a time for two weeks and I end up with 8-10 is all.

Any thoughts anyone on a mini cut before Christmas stuff? We start Thursday. But for my eating it may not start until the 24th (kids parties 19&20th). May wait until the new year or so days over break except when we have a gathering. Just don’t know if a 1 week cut would matter or not. Basically I’d eat normally but cut out the snickers and 1/3 of my dinner probably.
