Katsolo's Journal, 23 September 2019

Changed my profile pic today, and FS was giving me fits when I tried to use a couple more recent ones from the same app. That said, I had to heavily crop this one because of where I am and although it's pretty cool, I can't reveal it until later this year. Let's just say it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and it will be fun to share.

We'll turn it into a before/after to memorialize. Also, I somehow reset my starting weight along the way and I never have figured out how to put it back up where I started: 182

Going to be brutally honest, these are some serious self-loathing pics. Not an excuse, but taking care of everyone else before I took care of myself ended up being really hard on my body. A lot of things I'm still not ready to say here, but you need to understand that a lot goes on in peoples' lives that they may not share for whatever reason. Still a lot of hurt about some things inside me, some has faded, some never will. I know that I'm stronger than a lot of people, but decades of being tested will wear you down.

All that said, I have chosen to live my life and to live it happily. I know I sound delusional, and I probably am, but it makes me a happier person to choose to be happy rather than dwelling on the negatives in my life. So there ya go.

Pic 1 is probably the second worst picture of me out there. Not gonna share the worst one. That's hidden.
Pic 2, as I said, is me in a pretty cool mystery location. To be revealed later.

I'm still going to try and upload a more recent profile pic. We'll see if the FS gods will allow it.

Choosing happiness is always a good idea. There are many ways to look at the same experience that include both positive and negative. The more times you can view things positively the more positive fuel you get to meet the next challenge!

I started at 180...don't think I've had such a dramatic transformation in my face/neck. Now 166. What was your after picture weight?
24 Sep 19 by member: LindaRudick
Thanks, all. @LindaRudick, I've been hanging out around 158-160. I've been swimming and walking very consistently the last year and a half, so while the scale has stayed stable, my clothes have continued to change where I've dropped from an XL (18/20) to a normal size 8 most of the time. That first pic, horrible as it is, was snapped by a co-worker, and it was published inside my company for something we were working on. I wanted to die when I saw it, but I think it ended up helping me see I needed to make some significant changes or die. I can probably stand to lower my body fat further, but I'm no longer scale watching as the primary indicator of my health. It's swimming further/longer/calorie burn. It's going up the 18% grade by my house faster. And it really is being happy to get up every morning even though life constantly throws challenges.
