It's not a conscientious thing with them, either, it's just how they eat.

Yeah, when I asked a naturally thin person who wanted to gain weight but couldn't to document all he ate, it was 1500 calories if that. He would eat more going out on the weekends and his a averagege was closer to 2200. He thought he ate soooo much but he also would have large gaps between meals. He'd bake a pizza and it would take him 2 hours to eat two slices because he would let it sit while working at his computer. They formed better habits with food at a young age so they are wired differently at an adult age.

And they only eat two slices whereas I would eat 4

Another perspective. I’m what they call a naturally thin person. I still feel a lot of guilt when I eat unhealthy stuff. I just know how to balance it. And genes matter, seriously.

Both my father and sister are "naturally thin". And I was "naturally thin" up until I begin having health issues. We all eat pretty much the same - b/c habits formed in same household. I am actually more active even with physical limitations. I have only ever been 1 lb overweight. So if I was to speak for naturally thin people - I would offer the perspective that diet, exercise, and body chemistry all impact weight to point 1. Point 2 - 100%. Point 3- not always true as Velvetee pointed out. It's part of healthy eating habits. Thanks Velvetee for offering insight as a naturally thin person! Point 5 - naturally thin people also struggle with body image. For instance, my dad hates he is naturally thin. As a guy, he wish he was more bulky. Same for my sister, she would like to have more curves.

Stepbench - my sister could down 4 slices. She lives off fast food and sits around a lot. She is close to underweight.

And by live off fast food - I mean she doesn't have a lot of money so she often eats off of dollar menu when money is tight.

And if her movement and calories were monitored, it would all be explained.

I am posting for those reading who would like the perspective of naturally thin folks given post is being voiced by someone not "naturally thin". People can take from it what they want - other than that, I'm out ✌️

Do Ectomorphs struggle with body image issues?

Do you feel red meat should be moderated more than seafood?

Can someone explain this to me: Fat people weigh more, to maintain their weight fat people need to eat more calories. To move such a heavy load also requires more energy. Shouldn’t fat people have higher metabolism than skinny people?

"Naturally thin" people with healthy metabolisms, can eat differently that people who inherited metabolic disorders like type 2 diabetes. It is borderline insulting, Rosio, to imply otherwise. Mind Your Own Plate.

Gz9, “The metabolism of people with diabetes is almost identical to the metabolism of people without diabetes. The only difference is the volume and/or effectiveness of the insulin produced by the body.” https://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes-and-metabolism.html

Based on this post I have a normal body with fat person mentality. 😳😳😳

Agreed, it was a hard change to give up cheetos, donuts and sweets. After awhile it became natural to not eat it anymore, not it doesn’t even taste that good to me. The only donut I can eat now is the plain cake everything is too sweet, but I do feel guilt and think about it in terms of setting me back from my goal. 😔😔😔

Now* not not. My tastes changed from craving junk to less processed real food.

Gz...I don't Rosio meant to be insulting. I honestly felt this post was meant to push those struggling with weight to not make excuses and excercise portion control. Many of us post for our type of dieter.

I think I, my obese Aunt, and kids under age of 8...don't think I am naturally thin. Lol
