Okay FS family, I'm back.
Here is an update with some photos. If you need to comment about me fishing due to my photos save your breath, and BTW just so you know you can't read another's motive.

So here's the scoop. I had a terrible back injury on 12/22. I tore both tendons and muscles in the lower back area, along with the bottom of my left lat. I've been down the road of doctors and PT route. Finally, today I started back exercising. I choose to start at 30% of my former max. Even at such a light exercise I could still feel a lot of discomfort in my lower back, but fortunate no real pain. The discouragement from not exercising caused me to check out of here and neglect my health. Although I lost a pound since last check in, I also lost a lot of muscle. Really what I've accomplished was shifting inches around, and not to the places I prefer.

I lost 1" in biceps, which reduces me to 15". I gained 2.5" in the waist, which puts me at 33.5"--that is real inches not a fictitious jean waist inches. I fear that my dead lifts and hanging leg-raises may have to be either done away with, or always kept very light. I turned 58 in Feb, and am feeling it. I would love to meet some old workout personal best, but I'm not holding my breath, however this will be my aim.

Please forgive for hiding and taking some me-time while I sorted this out. Below is today's post workout pics. I want to do a comparison pics in 12 weeks.

Put the steel weight on, and take the flesh weight off.

Glad you're back and hope the PT has been beneficial. You look good. From the angle of the photos, you have that Sam Elliott look. I know he is older than you, but still hot! Sorry, TMI.

Welcome back, sorry to hear of the injury. Backs take time to heal, it's good to hear your on your way with it.

You go fishing like that? I'm confused. Nonetheless, I'm so sorry about your injuries. Glad you're on the mend.

I'm sorry to hear of your injuries. I have suffered back pain, severe, for years. I've had two surgeries and one neck surgery. Losing weight actually does and will help me feel better. I was on opioids for countless years and a couple of months ago decided to get off of them. And it's been successful. I got a med marijuana card and none of that is helping the pain. And I do not like to be high on marijuana. Ever. Good luck to you. I hope you feel better soon.

Welcome back - glad to hear you are on the mend. I was advised to be safe and sane on my return to the fitness routine and I mostly follow that advice.

You held up quite well to have such an injury. Be careful and listen to your body. Those PRs can wait a little longer.

Thank all of you for your time, interest, and words of grace and encouragement. BTW kellin_4, abs are made in the kitchen not in the gym. You can eat what you wish within calorie limits to maintain weight, but not to create abs. I also know it's easier for males and genetics plays a rale in it as well. I didn't have visible abs even in my 20s. These I made a few years ago. Keep swinging for the fences guys. No one will do it for you.

SO glad you are back...take it easy and slow as you return to your weight work. I had surgery on my arms in December and am also rehabbing using light weights.

Adam, your dedication and perseverance to maintaining your excellent physique probably kept your back injury from being even worse than it was. Welcome back!
