HCB's Journal, 24 September 2012

Finally had a good, sweaty workout with my kickboxing DVD this morning, and did some added weight work at the end. I guess my allergy medicine really needs to be correctly timed or I wake up with "nothing."

Weight loss is slowing down now - could be from lagging in my exercise the last 10 days, or the increase in the fats, or both.

Either way, I can understand the "hard" stuff is coming off now.

I will need continued support from my Buddies and diligence to hit my goal weight and below. I will NOT give up this time!

Grateful for:

- The good health of my loved ones
- My FS Buddies who support and encourage me to continue
- "Butt-kicking" myself to a smaller size today
- My DH - who is my greatest "cheerleader"
- My Bengal cat companions named Bodhi and Ravi
- My work - which has meaning and worth to other human beings
- My connection to the Mother Earth and its entire splendor
- My physical health

You're doing so great! You might also have a bit of a plateau only because your body needs to find a new equilibrium... and then it can get going into loss-mode again. I consider my "stall" points as finding equilibrium rather than as a "no-loss" cycle... because each day that I am eating better and moving more, even if the scale doesn't move, something is happening in my body for the better.

Wow, great work so far HCB. Plus I wanted to say thank you for listing the Primal eating site on your journal. I have been following that type of diet without actually knowing that its called the Primal diet. Now I know and the website is awesome. As for the slowing of the weight loss, you are hitting the "hard" fat areas...areas that have been a part of you the longest. These are the toughest ones to lose. However, you have it in you to do it...look how far you have come. Only a little bit more and you will hit your goal. Have a great day!

Good job on the hard work out. I'm hoping to do mine tonight at the gym. I like Heidi's "stall" finding equilibrium. :)

The law of diminishing returns...the closer you get to your goal weight the harder it is to lose. When I hit a plataue I tell myself that even if I never lose another pound I will not go back to eating the way I use to as the weight will be back even faster than it left.

It does become harder to lose weight the closer we get to our goal. So don't think you are doing something wrong just because the weight loss is slowing. But you might have to make a few adjustments to your plan. Sadly, we need fewer calories the smaller our bodies get so we need to scale back a bit on our intake if we want our rate of losses to keep the pace. Great job on the exercise front!

Back to the DVD's, you go girl! You know what you are going to make it! You keep encouraing us, and I do appreciate your encouragement, and we will do likewise. After you talking about JM and her DVD's I have been thinking about pulling them out again...

Don't think about how far you have to go, but how far you have come! You have made some amazing progress so far and you can do it again!

You are doing terrific. I am glad you got back in gear and had a good workout. You will reach your goal weight and I can't wait to congratulate you. You motivate so many others to butt-kick ourselves into exercising. :)

You WILL hit your goal weight. I am right there with you - we have both lost about the same amount of weight, we both seem to be on a plateau. You have been so helpful to me in this journey and I have also tried to be there for you. I am prepared to keep NOT BULLSH*TTING! Ha Ha Heh!

Your determination to get this done has served you well so far. I said basically the same thing about 15 pounds ago... thanks for the reminder! I am NOT going back.

Fatoldlady is right... diminishing returns. Ironic, isn't it? The more successful we are, the harder it is to move the scale. But you can do it. Keep your focus on the finish line, and remember all your friends who are behind you to help push you from behind.

Keep at it, your doing great. I am in the same boat, and this thread gave me lots of moral support and inspiration. I reckon the law of diminishing returns makes sense. Anyway, we're here for you! XD

You've done a super job! Look at how far you've come; you're an inspiration to all. They say the slower it comes off, the better your chances are of not putting it back on. So, thank the Lord for the little things. Keep up the good work!
