Thanks everyone for yesterday's positive support. I'm well aware that there are things I simply cannot indulge in or I lose control. Unfortunately there was absolutely no reason for my lack of control on Saturday.
I had been craving those stupid yellow Hostess cupcakes over the past 2 weeks. I had been in 3 stores where there is usually a display of them to tempt me, but all were sold out so I didn't have my usual "victorious" moment of not buying a package. I started off Saturday with a doughnut! (I buy coffee almost daily during the week at Dunkin Donuts, but don't indulge. That's usually my first victorious moment of the work day!) I was picking up coffee and doughnuts for my friend and her daughter that were going with me to the Farmers Market. The daughter didn't come after all, so... I should have been able to recover, but...
I'd already paid for a movie for her daughter, so when I picked it up, there were those damn cupcakes, and oh yeah, Yellow Zingers, another favorite. But I could spread these out... 1 treat a day over the week wouldn't be bad ... Yeah Right!
Curled up on the sofa, in post massage bliss, watching Perry Mason (all time favorite TV show since childhood) an episode with a very young Robert Redford in a small supporting role. MMM...surely one cupcake today wouldn't be bad...You know the rest.
Sunday was better, because I'd planned my meals, and since my sister was having a rare popcorn eating day, I was able to share my corn as we watched the very intense movie Detroit. Despite lots of flashbacks to my childhood, and my few memories from that terrible time, I was strong and stayed on track.
