AND THAT IS WHY BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL; OF THE DAY...

When I started losing weight I would wake up sooo hungry each morning. I bought a Sam's box of Nature Valley Chewy Protein Bars and kept them in my car to munch on as I drove to exercise.

As my body - ever so slowly - got used to not needing as much food, I did not wake up ready to destroy a Golden Corral Breakfast Buffet. So about a month ago I quit eating before my exercise, just afterwards when i got to my desk and began work.

Over the last few weeks, I have found that trips to the gym, rather than leaving me energized, left me drained. Last week, I wasn't even able to do my "stair run" (where I make a lap around the gym running up and down a flight of stairs). It wasn't until yesterday that the correlation clicked.

No fuel before workout = less energy during and after.

Yeah I got plenty of fat stored to convert to energy, but eating before hand really gave me the energy I needed to get through the workout. So this morning, I had some smoked chicken breast left over from the weekend and once again. I am feeling much better post workout! Of course now I am hungry too...

Oh, I'm right there with ya. I workout in the evening, but if it's a workout day, every meal I have is about fueling it or I'm like a soda gone flat or a martini without an olive, and frankly a martini without the olive is just not worth drinkin', LOL.
