Day 25
Morning after Indulgence Day
Weight 201.6 (up a mere 3 lbs)

Yesterday was a great day!! It was the best Indulgence Day yet. I think because I wasn't as crazed about eating so much. Maybe I'm getting the hang of this. I enjoyed many tasty treats yesterday ... a little bit of my fudge, a slice of date nut bread, pizza and beer, nuts, and white chocolate dipped pretzels!!!

Hubby and I went to town in the late afternoon for a grocery run and to visit the AT&T store to upgrade my cell to an iPhone. Now I just need to figure out how to use it!! I didn't get the latest and greatest because the 3GS was free as an upgrade to my plan ... so of course that is what I got, being the budget conscious person I need to be. I haven't tried to play with it yet ... later today!!

Last night we watched Pink Floyd Pulse in concert on our TV. The concert was from 1994. It looked and sounded GREAT on our new entertainment package Mom bought us for Christmas. Seems to be a theme here of enjoying early Christmas presents ... I love it!!

Today I will bake more date nut bread. This time in little mini loaves for giving away. I had to laugh. I gave a big loaf to my hubby to take to work last week. He cut it in half and gave half to his partner at work. I guess his partner just started eating it!!! My date nut bread is quite popular!! LOL!!! The house will smell good baking it ... and it will bring smiles to lots of folks I hope!!

I also hope to sort through a few things in the house and come up with another thrift store donation today. We'll see what the day brings. Exercise of course. Elliptical for certain, perhaps Pilates. Laundry, cooking, cleaning ... I am woman hear me roar.

I am grateful today for ...

... an enjoyable evening of music and tasty snacks with my hubby.

... compliments from my hubby about how "good" I looked yesterday

... feeling much, much better!!!

... I know I say it a lot but I am oh so grateful for COFFEE!!!

... opportunities.

Speaking of opportunities ... today gives me another opportunity to practice kindness to myself. I never expect a loss after Indulgence day and so I am never disappointed in myself!! LOL!!! Perhaps I need to adjust my expectations about the scale EVERY DAY!! It could be a part of my kindness towards myself.

Only ONE WEEK until Christmas and I am looking forward to it this year. Last year wasn't so much fun. My mom wasn't here, I got terribly sick ... just not much fun. This year my mom is home for Christmas and I am very happy about that. Also, I am going into Christmas on a "losing streak" and that is wonderful. My "losing streak" is going to continue throughout the new year. One of the things I have always stressed a little about is going "off" my plan for special events, going out on the town, so on and so forth. With this way of eating, the indulgence plan, I no longer need to stress about that. I can adjust my indulgence day forward or backward to fit the occasion/celebration if need be. It is a part of the plan to consume more calories on occasion, not a variation of a different plan. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone else but it does to me.

I carry on far too long!!! Back to kindness. Yes, I will continue to practice kindness towards myself. I will also practice patience and reminding myself there is NO special time frame that I need to adhere to in terms of reaching my "goal" weight. I have made nice, slow, steady progress since October. I will continue to make progress in losing pounds and gaining fitness. And ... I will do the happy hula in honor of my seeing 198.6 on the scale yesterday morning (hula burns calories, right?!!!).

Have a wonderful, restful, Sunday!!!

Ooooooh... I love that Pink Floyd concert. Did you know it's recorded on my 25th birthday? :) It's a GREAT show. I have the DVDs of it and watch in on a regular basis. I really like the way you see Indulgence Day, and fitting it to your needs around the holidays. You're right - a day back or forth won't hurt, but of course if you have it early you lose a day of losing weight to reach a new low, but then again you gain one on "the other side". - and it's so much easier to enjoy a large Christmas dinner when you know that you're SUPPOSED to...

I think I am so confused with the conversation between you and Keld. It's like a different language. I just read it and still don't know what it means but as long as you guys are patting each other on the back, I know it's a good thing. (Mad, I replied on yesterday's post) WTG on that loss. So proud of you!

What don't you understand about our conversations? LOL!!

Sazy I do much better with daily weigh-ins. While what you say is true about clothes fitting differently I find the daily weigh-in keeps me honest. I've experimented with not doing it and it simply doesn't agree with me. We are all unique in that regard ... and I say each should do what works for them!!! I have no idea what a HTC desire hd is!!! LOL!!

Uh huh... another chat in "code". LMAO! Here's part of Keld's: "You're right - a day back or forth won't hurt, but of course if you have it early you lose a day of losing weight to reach a new low, but then again you gain one on "the other side". - and it's so much easier to enjoy a large Christmas dinner when you know that you're SUPPOSED to..." I suppose you followed that but I was lost at HELLO. LOL! Now you have HTC desire. Sounds kind of sexy. LMAO!

I know you will love your IPhone! My daughter uses one. I have an Android and I do love all the things I can use this phone for. We had a Blackberry and what a waste of time when you get all these cool apps. LOL!

Hi Carol, glad you have found a plan that works for you, and that you are happy. Read back a bit and saw a nice thing your hubby did, call you while a song was playing, a very sweet and romantic thing to do. kinda makes up for all the times when they are not so sweet!!! Glad you are looking forward to Christmas, you are so lucky to have your mum with you. My sister will be with me again this year, she is a much older sister, like a mother, unfortunately she is beginning dementia, Alzehimers - we're not sure which but goodness knows I love her anyway and will enjoy making a fuss of her. Will be glad when this is all over though.
