The salad hoax...
We had lunch at Buffalo Wings & Rings and I got a cobb salad:
Blue Cheese Crumbles Chopped Eggs Diced Avocado Diced Bacon Diced Tomatoes Grilled Chicken Tender Kalamata Olives Salad Mix Herbed Vinaigrette
At first I'm all "not bad" and got it. Then I get back to the office and take a look at the nutrition... HOLY CRAP 1034 calories???
The hoax: "Herbed Vinaigrette" is 450 freaking calories. Just give me butter and I'll eat that, geez. Hell, if I said "hold the oil" it'd probably be a tsp of vinegar and herbs vs the small black cup they bring.
So next time I'm skipping the dressing and asking for just straight vinegar. I'll probably also skip the cheese and bacon.
In the mean time.. I logged what I am GOING to eat tonight so I don't binge eat at our party. Wish me luck!

I'm personally not a fan of dressing. A tip for ordering it without dressing is to ask for it "on the side"; for whatever reason when I ask them for no dressing I usually get dressing, but asking for it on the side usually works. Strange, but true. Good luck at the party :)

Subway chopped salads don't need any dressing, like 440 calories in a huge bowl, skipping any obvious sugars or starches.

My fiance and I eat there alot because, well, sports! But, Ive learned some tricks - use salsa as salad dressing, sub a black bean burger for meat ( I'm also vegetarian so that's the story of my life), no cheese or dairy based dressings. I like their Garden Crasher, I just drop the feta dip.

Yea, salad dressing is really bad. I've started eating my salads with olive oil and red wine vinaigrette. Pretty good substitute and it's not oh my gosh outrageous on calories.

Sometimes I carry my own salad dressing. My favorite is a yogurt based cilantro avocado dressing, only 45 cal for two tablespoons. But yeah, you have to beware the salads at most restaurants. You'll do better next time!
