Crisx08's Journal, 10 November 2011

Tomorrow is weigh in day. And I relized I am starting to drift away from my journey of weigh loss cuz I'm starting to lose will power. Which is said since I just have a little over 10lbs to reach my goal! I'm feeling less motivated to picking good things to eat and not junk food. Feeling less motivated to do walking from places like parking far away. I really need to get back on track but I don't know how to change my mood. Especially these holidays are making me depressed cuz this is the first thanksgiving and Christmas without my grandpa that passed away earlier this year and his house was the get together spot and he made the food...(pause: sorry starting to cry even just typing this)...*(sigh)* pulling myself together. Trying to look on the bright side and hopefully feel self motivated in time but each day is a struggle.

You can do it! Look how far you have come already and you are so close to the end!! You're grandpa would be proud of you I am sure! It's a difficult journey this weight loss thing...I have been at 2 events the last 2 days surrounded by cakes, cupcakes and biscuits. I told myself I can have one cupcake. At the end I didnt have any and it felt so good! Once you overcome that craving, the next one is easier and the next one. Its that first one you have to conquer and by looking at your weight loss history - you are on a roll!!! keep it up!

You have come so far! How about trying maintenance for a few weeks just to know that when you finally get to your goal you can manage maintenance? That will surely movtivate you to get back on the weightloss wagon and loose those final 10lbs. I am struggeling with the motivation loss. Im pretty much there, why bother, right? I have realised I will always look at the scale and see failure unless I see it through, but as you can see from my past month or so I have had weeks of no real weightloss (a few of my challenges are saying that I have lost 0 weight in the two or three weeks since they started) I have also noticed that I care more about great tasting food now than I did before, but I am very strict on portion control, I only have a small portion (or whatever the packaging tells me is one portion)that helps, because I can enjoy all the good stuff, if I only have a tiny bit! Hope you find your motivation again soon. If not you have done great, just maintain until the motivation is back again :)

Try to remember why you started this journey in the first place! After having my first two kids my weight ballooned to 200 pounds - I struggled and struggled and worked my ass off to get back down to 120. I swore that I would never have to do that again! Another two kids and I was up to 219!!! and it is harder this time, taking longer, and having greater health effects! Remember you! You are a good person - you deserve to be healthy and happy - you deserve to be taken care of. It is ok to have that little something special on special occasions as long as those special occasions don't come at 4pm every day ;) And between you and me does the crappy food really taste that good - is it worth it? I think you are worth more! Like sunshine_girl said above - just try not to blow it and then something will happen and things will click back into place for you . you have done so well so far!!!
