so i'm going at this via the tech-gadget route- i loadeded Fatsecret to my phone*, my facebook and my iGoogle. I'm in front of the computer a lot, so I can keep track everywhere. I thik keeping track will be key for me because it will keep me disciplined.
feeling a little sick today (which is dumb because i just got a flu shot and i'd assumed that would immunize me from everything from the flu to the blahs... no such luck).
i realize that mid November is a stupid time to start a diet as it is the beginning of the holiday eat-fest that comes with being around family, but i've given myself a mantra for thanksgiving:
"i am 28. that means i've eaten this EXACT SAME MEAL almost 28 times. I know which choices are healthy, and i know that i don't need a 15lb plate of dark meat, gravy, potatoes and stuffing. i can enjoy the meal and the time with my family without distending my lower intestine like i do every year. but i will let myself have a slice of pumpkin pie. so there. besides, twenty years after the first thanksgiving the colonial colonists incited an indian war that killed off a bunch of their indian buddies, so maybe a respectful fast would be more appropriate."
there is a challenge on here that challenges you to fast one day a week. Maybe i will make Monday a fast day (as in no eating, not a speedy day).
*so cool- the Fatsecret app on my phone has this feature where it uses the camera as a barcode scanner, so if i have a bowl of Kashi, i scan the barcode and it finds the info and directly enters it into my food diary. technology is so... skinny.
