Some thoughts on BMI please. At approx 150-152cm, BMI calculator suggests a weight of 40kg. Is this a helpful indication?

BMI is flawed and inaccurate. It does not take into consideration your bone density, muscle mass, overall body composition, etc. Focus on achieving a good health, lower bodyfat and lesser risk of health related issues. The best way to monitor yourself is by measurements. Weight also can play a role in monitoring yourself but don't obsess over weight.

Thanks Optimus, I have been reading about it since yesterday, it certainly isn't an exact measurement of ideal weight. :) 40kgs seems like a childs weight.

I read somewhere that a good norm is waistline. Take your height, divide it by 2 and that should be your waistline. So your ideal weight would be what you weigh when your waist measures 75cm.
