redgirl1974's Journal, 20 February 2016

ive been on this site since 2010 and today I want to post about something that Ive never seen talked about here at all.. the side boob.. this is for men as much as women. Ive googled 10000000000x " exercises for side boob" and Im sure Ive asked just as many people and the only bs answer I get is you can only get rid of it with cardio.. Im mean, Im sorry, Ive walked/jogged to china and back this last year and a half and I can attest, that sh!t ain't going no where with cardio.. Im developing a real nice physic and everywhere is really tightening up and then I lift my arms and there it is, im naming it blobby for pete's sake.. I mean I have to lean forward and push it up/in with my real boob in my bra.. jeez.. OK this maybe too much TMI for some and Im sincerely sorry about that, but I posted about my overhang belly "apron" once and my gas issues and no complained so what the hey.. and I just want everyone's insight.. Is the side boob the same like the belly apron? I was fat, Im still fat but I lost a lot of weight and that skin has no where to go? And if so, I get that.. I got a great firming cream and I can def exercise that area "extra" like I do my lower abs,. I just want to know Im not a hamster in a wheel here with the side boob issue..

LOL...great post Redgirl...nope, side boob and the apron don't go away. Have talked to my GI surgeon about it and he says reconstructive surgery is the only way to be rid of them...(I didn't have bypass surgery, just some icky intestinal resection), so even though there will always be "more" of me, just glad I'm getting healthy.

From what I researched there's nothing that can be done but surgery. Ugh. That's so silly but frustrating. I come to feel if I'm working out well and eating well, then my body is what it is. I have that too and am like wth? It's hard to find a bra that fits bc it may fit your cup size but then not that extra stuff and it won't squeeze into the cup no matter how big of a cup i try.

I think this post is an excellent example of the cross-section of people here on FS. Funny, informative, and supportive (no pun intended).

Lets not even mention BACK FAT!

SOOO, HIIT 3x a week but I could take it up a bit. clean eating, ya I could clean it up some more.. I dont spot treat, but what I do for the lower ab flab is I just work that out more so thats what I meant by extra.. so instead of 1-2 times a week like I do most muscles , I work my lower abs 3-4 and its helping.. I use Nivea firming cream after I shower and I apply that EVERYWHERE and it may or may not be helping but my bat wings look better thanks to that and hard core tricep work..googling Serratus Anterior, Pectoralis Minor and Latissiamis Dorsi for some moe ideas... and for now I shall be content to lean forward and push it all in.. who needs a wonder bra right?? bwahahaha.. great feed back friends.. !! i needed to be reminded that its taken me 10 yrs to gain the weight.. Its gonna take some time to lose it..

@ iulani -> Backfat! I saw a pic of me from behind and it was the first time I truly saw myself with my back fat roles. Scared the be-jesus out of me! Definitely a turning point for me.

Unfortunately, "spot reduction" doesn't work. Where your body stores fat is largely controlled by genetics. You can tone the muscles in various areas, but alas, you don't get to tell your body, "Get rid of fat from this spot." Weight training is good, though, because muscle tissue has a high metabolic rate, so increased muscle mass increases your overall metabolism.

Working the lats will get the "back fat" - mine is minimized now with lat work.

trocon, i have talked to dr.. and he was one the ones who told me cardio would help and basically said there's not much to be done with the ab flab other than surgery.. which for the record, I have no interest in. Im flabby and will always have flab and blobby and Im ok with that but I at least want to know Ive given it my best shot and if there is more I could be doing , then I have to push myself ! hence this entertaining post..

Yes Red.. leaning out is the key as NM said . That's my plan is to get rid of this layer of fluff I have n top ,, and then the muscle will be exposed . I have been working on this all my life,, LOL. OK and as for Cardio,, it is not good for anything !!except for stressing out your joints and ligaments,, so stop cardio and lift weights . You really believed a Medical Doctor,, even for 1 moment regarding cardio ???
