FRIDAY!!

Last night I had a very stressful night as my mothers caregiver, wife and employee if was a very long day. It was one those days where everything that can go wrong went wrong...but I survived... as usual I did want to turn to food, but was able to stay strong...did not eat enough... was too tired to fix my own dinner...I have been strong for the past 2 days and my usual pattern is to mess up on the weekend... I have grandkids tonight until tomorrow afternoon, usually I eat what they eat...as well as eat after them...I have proved to myself that I can make it through stressful days and now I must prove that I can eat the right foods on the weekend...So, I have prepared by having fresh fruits available to snack on....I have always been an Atkins believer and it has given me results but I now feel that making smarter choices, whole foods, less fat due to heart condition...is better for me at this time.

Give the grandbabies healthier snacks too. It's good for them and will help you stay on track. There may also be some paleo options you can make for them to substitute out the ever popular kids' choices, like mac n cheese. I know some people will do cauliflower (sp?) w/ cheese instead. Don't be afraid to introduce them to new foods too. Do't force them to eat it, of course, but you and they both might be surprised to find what they like to eat. Just a suggestion. Take it for what it's worth.
