Diana 1234's Journal, 02 September 2023

To everyone who left comments and love in my last post. Thank you! I will try to reach out to all of you individually but I want you to know how much you all touched my heart! For those of you who sent prayers,I am blessed to accept those and I am a believer so thank you again. And for those that sent love and good thoughts, I'll take them all! I'm extremely touched by all your comments. 🩷 Just a bit more info, I researched the Dr that will do surgery. Her name is Dr Green and apparently she is a leader in this type of surgery and has a 93% success rate. She has written papers in this and also has received Best Dr Award in the past few years. My husband actually watched the surgery on u tube! I have not..😬 I'm not freaking out as bad as before and a lot has to do with knowledge and all of the support I'm receiving. It's truly in God's hands and He will get me through this🙏🩷
As for gym, of course this is not the important issue but those of you who really know me, know I'm pretty diligent about my workouts. At first Dr said no weightlifting. He is afraid because I lift heavy that if weights should fall in me, it will be catastrophic.I explained my experience and desire to at least be able to do something and he relented and said I can do light weights, no bar though and no lifting anything over the chest or head, So no clean and press, no chest press, shoulder press etc. Bicep, tricep, curls, deadlifts, back rows, etc ok. He did say that light walking is a good idea to keep heart healthy. I will take his advice and resume my heavy lifting when it's safe.
Again, thank you all, I am grateful for you all!🩷🩷🩷🙏🙏🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

Best of luck with the surgery! I'm sure you'll come through it with flying colors 👍 Yeah, the one time I had surgery (thyroidectomy), I saw that video link and thought better of clicking it. Glad I didn't. Sometimes you have to step away from the keyboard to avoid freaking yourself out

Knowledge is power. I watched my own surgery on YouTube before I had it. Relieved my fears. Consider it when you’re ready. If you choose not too, that’s ok too. Read and research reliable sources in your procedure and ask Dr. Green any questions you have…no question is silly when it’s your body!!! Your great fit body will be on your side and make recovery a success. Eat well, enough and prepare spiritually most of all. Prayers again. Love and hugs Diana. 😘😘🙏🏻🙏🏻

Just yesterday I saw a story that stated female surgeons have the best outcomes and least problems. Hope this helps. Sending good vibes to you.

The Lord blessed me with a great male cardiologist who removed my ICD and leads, then also provided an amazing female surgeon to do a most complicated bowel surgery with colostomy (and was later able to successfully reverse it!) There are very talented people to help this be successful for you, and trusting the Lord to get you to the right people and guide their hands is so important. I'll be praying all goes well for you!

If you are having your procedure at UCSD and need anything while you are there, reach out to me. I am only about 10 minutes away from there.

You could use machines to do the forbidden ones as it won’t have anything to fall on you.

Diana, those statistics are super encouraging. I would feel better knowing that info. Will of course keep praying for your safe and healthy recovery. Remember how fit you are which will be an unbelievable helps in your recovery. Super has a good point, what would doc say about using machines? Do be so careful tho. Hoping your surgery is sooner than later to get put behind you. Xoxo darlin.

Writing, had that thyroidectomy surgery too. Do you still have issues with low thyroid or are you regulated with meds? I have Hashimoto disease.

I’m sorry you’re going through so much Diana. 💜 Try to focus on the positives. I know the lifting will help your spirits but do try to stay safe and remember this will be a tiny blip in your beautiful journey.

Supergainz, I went to gym today and did upper body. Worked back with bar ( deadlifts and back rows) tricep dips with plate on lap, tricep kickbacks with free weights, bicep curls, free weights, and then went to cable machines and did lat pull downs, back rows, tricep pull downs, and shoulder presses. Also did push ups and abs, body weight. Can you do chest presses on a cable machine? Never seen that. I'm trying to go lighter but more reps to get a good workout in. Any advice is genuinely appreciated!💪 YOH, thanks and I do feel better. It sometimes takes me a minute to process stuff like this. As for working out, see my comment to SG🩷🩷🩷

Imalittleless, When I looked up Dr Green I was surprised it was a woman. The field of cardiology seems to be male dominant. Not sure why..I'm just Happy she is supposed to be good! 🩷🩷 Moko, Thank you, I'll be careful for sure!🩷🩷 Susan, Im just happy to have a good doctor. Diana -- did they do a complete thyroidectomy on you or just a partial? And did they do radioactive ablation? They did the full treatment on me, so I have nothing left and am completely dependent on the Synthroid. They kept me on high dose to suppress my TSH for a few years to prevent cancer recurrence, but now that I've been clear so long, they keep it at a normal level. Very well controlled at this point.
