shirfleur 1's Journal, 11 July 2023

For the last few months, I've been losing about three pounds a month. Due to the trauma to my digestive tract, my doctor has put me on a no-fiber diet for a while. That means high carb, lots of potatoes, pasta and white rice; all those foods I usually eat in only very limited amounts. And yet, in the last 1 1/2 weeks I've lost 3.6 pounds. Interesting, isn't it?

Diet Calendar Entry for 11 July 2023:

meat is also no fiber, and the protein is very nutritious and healing. Just sayin'

I am eating some meat also Erika, but very limited on fruit and veggies, which are normally a large part of my diet.

Watermelons are easily digested and low on the fiber. Yes I eat those foods to gain and I also eat them to lose. Calories in n out

Supergainz, I'm a definite CICO dieter also. And I also like to eat lots of fresh unprocessed foods. Right now, watermelon is not on my restricted diet, but I'm gradually adding foods back in. Healing my digestive tract is a slow process, some foods do not make it happy.

Hope you are feeling better. I am a big believer of CICO too. I try to avoid carbs but no can do. When I lost over 110 I did cut alot of carbs out, but now just give in. I have Diverticulitis but only get once in a blue moon. Never been on a high carb diet, but would enjoy pasta :) I just bought baking potato bag and do like them, but problem is the stuff I want on them....I am probably a butter and cheese junkie.

Ginsin, I have been using butter and cheese on my baked potatoes. Still losing weight.

I agree Cheesegobbler but there are some whose opinions differ.

I didn’t know people on FS had different opinions?!?! 🙃

Katsolo thats not true. We are all allowed to only have the same opinion no matter what🤣

My daughter had GI issues and couldn’t gain weight. Now it’s cleared and she’s putting on weight. To hear you say that isn’t weird at all, because we learned as soon as the digestive system is corrected, weight will be corrected naturally. I’m so happy for you!

Yearofhealth, well, my system definitely has received a shock. Or rather, several shocks.

I think this just goes to show there is no “one size fits all” diet. Enjoy your potatoes!

I am enjoying the potatoes, pasta, bread and rice that I don't normally eat in such abundance. But, I'm really missing all the fruit and veggies that I love even more. And, the spicy foods!
