Congratulations! And I'm sorry as well. It is a long road ahead when a young child is involved. I have 2 more years until I never have to hear my ex's name again! I'm so close. lol

@kaylinree the ex was truly awful as a father at home, angry, shouty, horrible. When we broke up I told him he'd get the relationship with the kids that he deserved, I didn't have to whitewash his bullshit any more. He went out, bought an x-box and started playing with his son.... I could have been cynical. yes okay I felt very cynical. But in front of them I smiled and was gracious. It's been 13 yrs now since the split, and we occasionally go out to dinner all 4 of us, do this and that. A lot of water under the bridge. He will always be their father, and they need the stability of knowing their dad loves them, knowing they have more than one support person. :) I was the child of divorce and my mother hated my dad's guts. We kids were the collateral damage in that. sorry for intruding so badly. Just me really responding to the issues I have had in my own life, not really assuming I'm relevant to you, just throwing it out there in case.

bubbles thanks for sharing, we have split custody alr3ady and id never deprive my kids of their dad. my parents divorce was ugly. i was 6. my dad had a relationship with us until he abandoned us when i was 12. my parents didnt get along until the loss of by brother in 2016. my dad started coming around again then, and even moreso when he became a grandpa. i refuse to let my kids have the same life.

@Joel, it does seem like he married up. Hopefully he can recover and make healthy changes in his life as well.

ahw thanks guys! 🥰 i do hope he gets healthier too, but probably not based on the choice to buy a video game system 🤦♀️ at the very least i hope he can realize he needs to be a better father above all else.
