I am 55 going on 56 and past menopause. Just curious, how many calories are ladies my age consuming and actually losing? I have an office job, so I sit most of the day. I do try to remember to get up and walk around. I do hit the treadmill for an hour after work every day, walking at a fast pace for me at 3.5mph. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciate. I know on curves, I stayed more around 1400 calories, but have been trying 1200 with no luck. Thank you!

As we get older, we lose muscle mass. Start a strength training routine to build muscle. You don't have to use heavy weights. Jillian Michaels has good workouts (short too). But look on collagevideo.com or amazon.com for different kinds. I also love Bob's workouts from the Biggest Loser. Interval training also helps burn more calories and fat. Up your protein. Protein helps lose fat and build muscle. You need to rebuild the muscle you are losing. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn at rest, the easier losing becomes the easier maintaining at goal. Good luck!

I stay between 1200-1300 and do challenging workouts four days a week. It is the quality of your calories, too, I believe.

Thank you! :) Gonna keep my calories between 1200 and 1300 and get involved in some strength training. Will keep an eye on my protein! Thanks again!
