Ceebee's Journal, 14 May 2011

So yesterday I made it.. I nearly caved like every 5 min all night long. I was not even hungry.. I just wanted to wallow in food. Today we took the kids grocery shopping and all we bought were fruits and veg. We made everyone pick something new. Sam was crying because she did not want to try anything new.. so I picked pears for her. We tried 4 different kinds of pears. Every one liked the asian and the d'anjou. The bartlett was a little under ripe and there was a yellowish one that was also under ripe but had great flavor. My son picked avocado. I am super excited about that.. (I am gonna make guac with two of them and one we will have just sliced) I picked a small yellow mango. My husband picked a ton of things. So the though is we will all try each of the new things together.. at the table for a snack.. not a meal. So if you dont like it.. dont freak out it is not dinner it is just a sample. It was my husbands idea.. and I was not really on board at first. (I did not say that to anyone but I did have reservations) The pears went over really well. i know everything will not be a winner but today 3 out of 4 were really tasty and the fourth.. the kids and I did not care for the brown tough skin. So yay for new foods and no tears. and yay for not eating everything in the house yesterday. :)

That's a great strategy, I'm totally going to try that next time I take Z to the store. She used to love avocado as a toddler, now she won't touch it. So pesky.

To cool you got the family involved. It is hard to make food for yourself and separate meals for the family.
