Yesterday was more chaotic than I thought it would be. At about 8am, my granddaughter (Maebie) called and said her mother had fallen asleep and sounded like she was going to pass out every time she tried to wake her. (My daughter had told me in the middle of the night that she hadn't been to bed for two days - her "husband" was threatening to kick her out if she didn't get the house clean, so she had been working on that). Maebie usually takes the bus, but her mom had told her the night before that she would take her to school. The bus ride is 1 hour for a 15-minute distance. Anyway, I missed the chance to make the long story short, but I ended up going and picking her up and taking her to school. She was tardy, but at least she got to school.
I had intended to take a morning nap, planning ahead for staying up later since Maebie was spending the night. No such luck. In spite of those drawbacks, I got in 8 cups of water before 2pm, and I walked 1.4 miles before I had to leave to pick her UP from school. Had to wait in car line for about half an hour (have to get there early, or the line extends into the road) in the pouring rain. Prayed that the rain would let up when we had to go IN to the orthodontist, when we came OUT, when we were going to go INTO the Outback for dinner and when we'd be coming out. Even though it POURED all the way to the orthodontist, it let up to just a mist at all of the times I had prayed for. Maebie was VERY impressed that God had answered my prayers.
Had a nice dinner at Outback. Mae and I shared their largest Filet Mignon, loaded baked potato and salad, and ate a loaf of Bushman Bread. We ordered carrot cake to take home for dessert because we were stuffed after our meal.
When we got home, we watched a movie that she likes called "The Adam Project." It had a good story line, but there was a lot of cursing that involved God's Name and Jesus' Name. The movie could have been just as good WITHOUT all that, but I guess they needed the cussing to get their PG-13 rating. Sad.
The PROBLEM with the day was my Diet Coke consumption. For the first day in severa days, I drank OVER 2-liters. It was hard to calculate because Maeble kept taking sips out of my cup, and I only drank less than half of the one I ordered at the restaurant, but I know I opened a 12-oz CAN right before bed.
Today is even MORE chaotic than yesterday! Have to take her to school right during the time that I would normally be doing my Price Monitoring jobs. Then, I have to be at the Hematologist at 10am, and I have a Bible Study phone call at 1. Mind you, I'm used to just sitting in my recliner all day, listening to audiobooks and getting up every 30 minutes to walk. Getting my walking in today will be a challenge, but I think I can do it.
Not weighing in today because I went to bed four hours later than usual and got up at 3am. Tomorrow's weight will be a more accurate indicator of where I really am.
Ok, talking about things isn't getting any of them DONE. Lots to do before Maebie wakes up. I'M TIRED! Wahhh!
