So, I made a decision to postpone my trip to the indoor trampoline gym until after my half-marathon in 2 weeks. I would totally hate it if I ended up injured from some dingbat smashing into me or have some freak bouncing accident that would make me miss my race. It's not like the trampolines won't still be there in 2 weeks, so I feel good about my decision to postpone, even though I REALLY REALLY want to go!

Today is yoga day and grocery shopping for me (Wow, my life is boring!). If you're interested in starting a yoga practice and don't know how or where to begin and don't feel like spending money on classes, a pile of clothes to "look the part" or a stack of dvd's you'll never use, Youtube has a ton of completely free yoga videos to get you started. I'm partial to a specific channel called "Psychetruth", and all of their yoga videos are lead by certified instructors and quite easy to follow. I used to do them a while back and still do them with the Sig-O in the evenings sometimes.

This weekend I have 16 miles to run (6 on Saturday and 10 on Sunday), which will bring this week's running mileage to 32 miles! It's amusing that I now consider a 6-mile run to be my "short run" of the week. Oh, how times have changed!

When I'm not running, I have a lot of fermented veggies to prepare this weekend and I'm going to try to squeeze in time to prepare as much food for the week as I can. Even if it's just pre-cutting vegetables because that always seems to take so much time each day! I'm perpetually "choppin' broccoli", as they say!

OK, enough of my musings for now. Have a fantastic weekend, Everyone! Go make it extraordinary!

Probably a wise decision to hold off. The trampoline gym can be a reward for completing your half. What's with the fermented veggies though, if I may ask? (I'm trying to incorporate more veggies into my plan)

Oh-so glad you asked about the veggies! They're so delicious, nutritious, and incredibly easy to make. Since I can't post links to websites in comments, I'll just tell you to google "How To Make Lacto-Fermented Vegetables Without Whey", and you should find Nourishingmeals dot com's online tutorial on how to make them. Give it a try! I eat at least 6-8 servings of veggies a day, and try to incorporate at least 1 or 2 servings of fermented veggies into my daily meals/snacks. They have tons of beneficial probiotics without the need for dairy, and are so healing for the gut as well!

Probably a good call on the trampoline adventure and all of that running and yoga what a studette :) Fermented veggies how are you fermenting them like Kimchi?? Curious

Yes, it's very similar to kimchi. Just pack veggies in jars with a sea salt brine and let 'em bubble away 'til they reach their desired level of yumminess! It's just that simple. It might not be for everyone, especially those who are restricting their sodium intake. But seeing as don't eat any processed foods and I sweat profusely on most days and need to ADD sodium to my diet, they're perfect for me. Last week, I made a batch with zucchini, black pepper corns, garlic, ginger, and beet greens that was out-of-this-world good! Check out Nourishingmeals dot com for their video tutorial if you want to know more specifics.

Good choice about holding off on the trampolines. I recall even avoiding public places before my 1st marathon because I didn't want to catch any colds. Bizarre (I know, but I am who I am) but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to properly train for this distance...and I didn't want all those sacrifices I made to be for naught.

Good idea to hold off. Thanks for the links. Will try both. I'm starting to use YouTube more since I can put it on my TV now.
