SherrieC's Journal, 18 June 2014

Okay I just realized something. It has been 4 months to the day that I joined FS, and my starting weight was 205. After 4 months I have lost 10 pounds. To me that is good and bad. Good in the fact that I have lost, but kind of bad because it is taking me so long to achieve it. Although, I have fallen a few times, but I am still at it.

After looking at so many of my FS friends journals, I decided to make a mini goal instead of the very large one I started out with. I must say I kinda like this new color. :) Have a great day all !!!

Well, congratulations on your loss. When you think of it, a year or two to lose what too on a lifetime to put on is a good deal... I was just noticing that you have a very high amount of carbs. That might be stalling your weight loss. For what it's worth, I took this down from a member, and I believe it to hold some truth. Below 50 carbs = state of ketosis, between 50 and 100 is a sweet spot for losing, between 100 and 150 is maintenance, and between 150 and 300 is slow weight gain, over 300 make some space in your medicine cabinet for medication. You might look into it if you want. All the best!

I'm contemplating mini-goals as well. I think there's something to be said for seeing that bar change color or inch toward a short-term goal.

That sounds great. Being her has kept you conscious of what you want to do even if you haven't made huge strides. So much of this is a mind game we play with ourselves. When you're ready, you start making little changes... like you just did. :)

The fact that you have lost, and kept off, 10 pounds is nothing to frown at! Go pick up a 10 lb weight and really think about how heavy it feels, you used to carry that around with you all the time! :)

10pounds is great. Slow is good, means in the long run you will probably keep it off

Slow and steady allows you to learn all the right ways of eating/being active/etc. to help you maintain once you get to your goal. Don't worry about it ... keep sticking with it (that's the most important point). :)
