Hello everyone! I wanted to share some thoughts about intuitive eating...
So,I have been having binging episodes for about a year, and my effort on controlling them counts half of it. Which means that I had given up for some time,in a self-destructing manner. However, after some rounds of overeating and fasting and generally overthinking of food,I found myself today eating very mindfully and only when I got hungry. Also, in reasonable quantities without thoughts of exaggeration. I consider this to be a great accomplishment, doing what for others (as well as for me in former days) is completely natural. I know that,as goes for all addictions, I shouldn't get enthusiastic, the balance between observation and emotion is sensitive-there lurks the risk of relapse. I hope this feeling will last and I "contaminate" you all with it!

Thank you Ridemariel, thank you KayBuckaroo! In fact, I found out that "intuitive eating" is actually a whole theory, useful in overcoming eating disorders and reinventing our relationship with nourishment- without guilt. It doesn't promote weight loss, it's more of a mid-way phase. Initially I just meant the term in a literall way, as "food for thought"... Have a beauuuuutiful day!

I love this post! I love the days I can eat normally! So crazy that it doesn't come naturally as it does to others. It takes a lot of work and for me, personally, some answered prayers.

Hi, it happens...I try to logically think about it and then some junk my husband bought calls to me. It's tough to stay focused, especially with how upside down the past year has been. At least you notice you are doing it, I feel good when I can stay on track. I try not to beat myself up and tomorrow is another day.

I really love the fact that we support one another in this space. This interraction is both virtual and real.Your words reach me, oceans away, and it's liberating... I wish us all tons of love...

I struggle with binge eating, too. I won’t give much advice, because everyone needs different strategies. I will give one piece of advice, though—figure out what strategies work for you.
