I need opinions.

I am not hungry today. Really just not. Idk why, I don't feel sick. My peak flow is down a little, but no more then it has been lately. I ate a few strawberries but they just didn't taste all that great(which is weird for me, I LOVE fruit). Had some coffee also for breakfast (breakfast of champions, lol). Around lunch time I still wasn't hungry, but to balance out the fruit carbs I ate a half cup of cottage cheese and put it down as a snack, assuming I'd be hungry for lunch soon. It's 2:45 and I'm still actively not wanting to eat. Idk, maybe I'm getting sick. My stomach isn't upset, but it simply feels full still since the cottage cheese and nothing really sounds appetizing.

What do you do in this situation? Do you eat anyways? Do you just let it be. I'm a big proponent of eating when hungry... I'm not so sure what to do about not being hungry or wanting to eat, when I'm halfway through my day at 128 calories o.0 I mean, I never eat a ton early in the day- but I'm normally around 500 calories for the day by dinner time (and then eat another 600-800 for dinner). So 128 is just way to low.

What would you do? Just ride it out and assume my body knows what it's doing, or eat something anyways?

You got me on that question, I can't wait to read some other comments. Could it be TOM sneaking up? Not trying to get personal, but that is a thought. Good luck on getting opinions.

I think it'll backfire! Each body is different, but if your body does not get enough in, it'll slow down and won't get rid of what you want to get rid of! I don't think this would happen in just one day though! Look up coachcalorie on facebook or on their website; great articles! You are doing great!

What will backfire Tulipgirl? Eating if I'm actively not hungry or not eating even though I'm actively not hungry?

JUST TRY TO GET YOUR PROTEIN SO YOUR MUSCLES HAVE THE FUEL THEY NEED.

Sherrie, TOM was last week. So, I don't think it's related. That would have been a solid idea. Idk, I'm just going to let it go I think and eat when I get hungry. If I'm not hungry by supper I'll eat dinner anyways and figure it out then. Who knows, maybe I'll suddenly feel starving here in an hour ;-)

I felt like that yesterday I woke up feeling full .. Ended up eating a 2 special k protein bars things.. Guess I just needed the sinful taste of a snack but still good for you.

That's a good point Cyd, I think I'll just do that unless I get hungry again, thank you. Hopefully I'm just having an off day and tomorrow will be back to normal =p

lol Deaby- if all else fails I'll have my hubby bring home some protein bars =)

I think my question would be - has this happened before and how has your body responded? I have the rare day that I'm just not hungry. I'll go until very late in the afternoon (sometimes early evening) then just get RAVENOUS. Or I'll be unfillable the next day. Even when I'm not hungry, I try to keep at least a bit of protein in my system to keep that hunger switch from going from the off position to can't eat enough to feel satiated.

I have days like that. Usually, ironically, they end up on my cheat day. (shakes fist at the karmic sky) i just ride it out and let it be. I don't binge after so I just let it be.

Vickie, I'm really not sure if it's happened befor. It hasn't happened befor while I was tracking. However I have always befor been a "eat when you're hungry, don't when you aren't" kinda gal, so I don't know that I would have really noticed if it had happened befor- or even if I noticed at the time it wouldn't have stuck as a long term observation the way this one is with the tracking showing it. Part of me feels like I should go eat anyways. But it sounds like in your case it's a natural cycle so I wonder if that's all it is here. Maybe tomorrow I'll be really hungry or later tonight I'll make up the cals and eat a larger then normal supper.

Thank you guys, I think I'm going to follow the protein suggestion and just ride it out assuming my body knows what it wants. That's worked for me up to this point with not gaining weight when I'm not tracking, so I figure it will work for me even while tracking, lol.

I really appreciate the help figuring it out. I really wasn't sure what was a good idea on this one o.0

Wait till you're hungry...listen to your body and it will tell you when, what, and how much to eat.

Thanks Josie. I ate a tablespoon of peanut butter for a little protein boost and just gonna go on my day. It'll work itself out =)

Hi Calyn, I would just not eat..This is a way your body is using to adjust to fewer calories, and if you feel good (not sick or tired), this means your body has enough reserves to burn in a gentle fashion..so enjoy fasting! Take care.

It's a really good thing you're journaling this too Calyn. You can pay close attention to what your body is telling you the rest of the day and remember what works (or didn't work!) when/if this happens again.

I think not eating will slow down your metabolism!
29 Apr 14 by member: Tulipgirl6
^^ there are no vetted scientific studies that show that not eating over less than 24 hours will slow metabolism.

I have days like that sometimes, and. I just stay with fruit and cottage cheese and drink lots of liquid so I don't dehydrate. Just take it easy and try to eat light.
