My friend (who has the brain cancer) got a decent MRI result on Friday and we are both 2 weeks out from our second vaccination so we went out for an evening on the town Saturday. She is not suppose to eat sugar at all because it feeds the tumors but she decided that it was high time for us to show our ā60s hippie rebel streak with ā- (drum roll) banana splits. They were huge and looked awesome and they were delicious. We each only finished half but it was fun and the first sugar item she had had in a year. From a morale point of view, it was so worth it. It is these small victories in life that need to be celebrated. Especially in these times when the cards have been stacked against so many.
