Okiegurl81's Journal, 07 February 2014

Today I finally weighed myself for the first time in about a month. I was so scared that I would have gained weight back, but to my surprise, I'd lost! I had originally put my starting weight at 350, the amount I weighed at my last weigh in, but I had to change it to 337! :D My heaviest weight two years ago was 430. So for 2013, I lost a total of 93 pounds. Not bad! My biggest weight lost in my life ever.

I think a lot of it has to do with finally getting help with my depression, panic attacks, and my social anxiety. I feel a bit more comfortable leaving the house now. I have dropped three pants sizes, which still amazes me. I have a hard time looking in the mirror and seeing that I have lost weight. I still feel like the old 93lb heavier me. It'll come I guess.

I decided I needed a place to record the rest of my journey, and my thoughts dealing with this. I am determined to take control of my weight, and live my life without the help of weight loss surgery.

WOW!!!! You had a fantastic year!!! I hope this year is just as great to you! My mom deals with depression, agoraphobia (fear of being away from her safety spot-home-) and panic attacks. Shes actually about a million times better than she was, she works now and usually knows how to curb off an oncoming panic attacks, and I know she couldnt be where she is at right now if she didnt get help. So I know you are dealing with and overcoming alot!

Sounds like you are doing a lot right for yourself, and now you are losing when you are not even obsessing about it. That must mean your body is responsive to your efforts. Very valiant of you saying you are keeping your successes to yourself and not giving them over to a doctor, as in surgery! Trust those new pants! If the size says they are smaller they ARE smaller. Best wishes on your journey to a new you okiegurl81!
