Tim Huffman's Journal, 04 February 2014

Found out this week that I will be traveling like crazy this month… i think I figured out a system for food while out of town but only time will tell. The scale only gave me a pound this week but I changed my cheat day and my fast day and think that may have impacted my weight loss. I'm currently stuck in Kansac City, crazy weather, hopefully my flight tomorrow doesn't get cancelled! Next week Omaha, week after Vegas, week after Wichita and Kansas City. Maybe after that I can sit down and relax for a bit…lol.

I got this! Hope to see a couple of lbs maybe even my goal weight this week! That's the good news, the bad news…I think my goal weight needs to be 180….lol

It's just a matter of having a plan and time for the plan to work.

You will do it!!! You know what you need to do to succeed.... What do you do that makes you travel so much? Do you fast the day before you weigh? or the middle of the week? Just curious. Stay positive and keep your mind on your goal! :)

Thanks for the positive feedback Jenfar. I usually don't get to get out much but sometimes I can sneak out. Las Vegas is a personal trip so really can't complain about that one, only that it'll be tough to eat healthy with all the huge buffets. Wdixon, I usually have a cheat day on Saturday and Fast on Sunday. Last week I was traveling and Friday was my Birthday so I Fasted on Thursday and ate what I wanted on Friday. I think that may have knocked my weigh in off, I also weigh in on Monday which is normally after my fast day. I"m doing OK with food so far while traveling but my workouts (mostly weight lifting) are lacking. I plan to try to make up the ground on days I'm home with the weights. My treadmill work is no problem because the hotels have them.

Did you make it out of KC? Today's weather has been partly sunny, with some wind, and dang cold but no more snow this afternoon. Not sue when you are coming back here but more snow predicted for friday

Of my gosh! I can remember when I traveled with work a bunch. I packed a food scale, measuring cups and hit Wal Mart right after my flight arrived to gather healthy food! It was so hard but I was determined ;) Peppers stuffed with 99% lean ground turkey breast, tomato sauce and brown rice were one of my travel favorites.Sashimi is always a good one when traveling. I think those rotesserie chickens with the skin peeled off and nuking frozen veggies was another staple LOL! Do you ever use those microwave steamer bags by ziploc?

Yeah, Wholefoodnut, it was late, but I make it out. Good luck this weekend, it looks like your going to get some more weather. Lauraab, its funny, sounds like we are on the same page with hitting up a store when we get in. This trip was difficult because my room didn't have a fridge, microwave and I got picked up so no rental car. I brought a couple of disposable tupperware and cooked and cut about 3 lbs of chicken ( I had to keep it on ice in the sink), I also brought a bunch of fruit. I ate dinner and asked them to cook some veges for me to take for the next day. I love the idea of the steam bags, I didn't think they sold them anymore. I'll pick some of them up. I'm finding that it's way easier to replace brown rice with fruit.

Traveling and eating can be a challange/ If you were here and your car outside it would work as a freezer! high today maybe 14 I thinks it's still close to zero LOL
