I'm feeling some anxiety about the weekend coming up. We tend to run around a lot on weekends and that means eating out and eating junk too. I've been pretty focused this week, not going over my points, and eating relatively good I think. I am surprised at myself because I generally don't have this much will power so it's a good thing. Shows me that I can be strong if I put my mind to it. I was thinking about a post I read yesterday that read, "indulgening opens the flood gates." I've been there too many times and I don't want to go there this time. I can't seem to give myself a inch, because the other part of me wants to take a foot. One meal out of line and I will be completely discouraged and probably fall off. The self-guilt is the worst for me.

Weekends are hard, especially with family and running around. You just have to try and make wise choices. I try to order a kids meal if I really want hamburger and ff. My kids laugh, but it tastes as good as the bigger order and you have less points. Eat a light breakfast on the weekend if you know you will be going out. Get in some exercise if you can and move, move, move. Good luck!

Suzi, that is such a good idea!! I'm going to remember that when I get a craving for McDonald's or whatever. I wonder if they will let you order a kid's meal at a resturant? That would sure help, if they did.

I order kids meals all the time for myself. They are less expensive, have smaller portions, and taste the same as the adult meals. PLUS- You get a cool toy! LOL! Try to plan where you think that you might be going to eat before you leave. Then pull the nutritional value online, figure out the points and jot down what would work for you. I also have printed out the nutritional values of our favorite restaurants so that it is right there and ready.

If you mean fast food places, I have a few suggestions. Jack in the box has a good southwestern chicken salad. Make sure to get the chicken grilled. And just use a tiny bit of the dressing because it has a ton of cals. They also have these new terriaki bowls with chicken or beef and steamed veggies and steamed rice. They're pretty big, but I think that the whole thing is no more than 7 or 8 points. Then at McDonald's I like their salad too. The one with grilled chicken. I always get grilled chicken. And I try to use my own dressing from home or to just use a tiny bit of theirs for flavoring. And at Carl's Jr. I love their charbroiled bbq chicken burger. It has 7 points, it's grilled, and sometimes I eat only half the bun. And don't forget at regular restaurants, you can always ask them to go off the menu and just get you a grilled chicken and steamed veggies. Just about every restaurant should be able to accommodate that. If they can't, I've heard of a trick where you get your food and immediately put half in a to-go box. Or even ask them to bring you only half. Or share a meal with someone else. And no bread on the table, if you have a hard time with it in front of you. I used to get it for my kids, and then I realized they eat bread instead of their meals. So we never have bread on the table anymore. Anyway, try to go in with a game plan, and you'll do great. Don't worry. Here's another suggestion -- bring in a pad of paper and pens and doodle or write. It's good for the kids to be entertained with, and it will keep your hands busy. (That's a good one for me, too!)

Thanks you guys. I should be able to accomodate my diet with these ideas. I have been craving a salad lately anyways!*!, and think I should be able to find something suitable for WW.
