Went to the office party. Still don't understant how I can gain 3,5 pounds overnight. Can't be right. After weeks of low cal - I allow myself one night and bam! Back to square one.
Am at a loss with low carb. Very, very frustrating.

High protein foods push water out of our cells which is why when you start low carb, you get big losses the first couple of weeks. So when you eat higher carb foods, the water goes back in to the cells which shows on the scale as a gain (mostly water unless you ate a huge amount). Even if the calories are low, you can show a water weight gain. When you go back low carb, it will leave again. It could also be sodium in the food.
