Jujubeanak's Journal, 29 October 2013

My daughter came up to help me after surgery. She feels she has a good grip on what's healthy, but she eats a LOT of carbs and sweets. Her food choices while making food for me let a lot to be desired. Then when I tried to discuss the right food choices, it was an argument. I had to explain to her how Type II diabetes works and how to manage it without insulin - which is to reduce carbs - not to have just "better" carbs. After a few months, I just ate how she ate. Now, to get where I need to be, I need to get back to eating right. She is no longer in the house so it should be easier. Hopefully, I can do this in a short time. Meanwhile, I hope my daughter learns the right things. She is up to 250 or so and needs to be more willing to hear my advice from what I've learned from having diabetes and going into recession by losing weight, and my advice o how to lose weight the right, and long-term, way.
