Finally a night when I managed to get a couple hours of sleep. Love that my ankles and feet don't look like sausages, so guessing the Gabapentin is pretty much gone from my system. Now lets see where my body goes from here. Oncologist on Monday and PC next Friday. Fingers crossed! AME so have a good weekend FS.

I'm glad getting off the Gabapentin worked. I sure got dizzy when taking it.!!

Thanks dboza. I wasn't able to take as much as my Neurologist wanted me to, since I work with numbers. While I didn't experience any pain relief, it did make it possible for me to sleep. When he prescribed an anti seizure med to deal with the pain that wouldn't make me drowsy, he kept me on the Gabapentin. When that didn't do anything for the pain, his NP added an additional dose of the antiseizure med. When that still didn't do anything for the pain she added another drug for the day, and bumped up the dose! I weened myself off of the antiseizure before my last appointment and since the swelling was of concern to the Physical Therapist, she agreed to let me QUIT taking the Gabapentin, but now has me taking an antianxiety drug! So on and on it goes.

Dear Jean I had been on gabapentin for many years due to injuries. I slowly but surely gained weight over the years. Then menopause hit.... I had never been fat a day in my life. I gained weight and gained weight. Gabapentin is Satan in pill form!!!! It makes to lose weight slow and difficult. If you can....get off of this. Topirimate could be a better choice but these drugs are evil and terribly hard to manage when they are absolutely necessary. Meliee
