I have been wanting to record a journal entry but had not taken the time. I am not a great writer and often use 30 words to say what someone else could say in 5 words. That being said, I had a few thoughts that I wanted to jot down and will try to keep it as brief as possible...
I recently realized that it took a major event to cause my desire to lose weight. Why didn't I know all along that I needed to shed the excess weight? Well, maybe it wasn't a question of knowing but more to the point a lack of caring about my health and well being. What was this major, life changing event that happened to make me realize that I had a problem? About a month ago, my boss requested that I go in her stead to a meeting out of town to a sister agency that had just recently relocated. I was very excited about going but due to health problems (gall bladder not functioning) began to stress out about going. The day of the meeting came and I was actually feeling well enough to go. I got to the location of the meeting, went into the conference room and signed in. As I was signing in, I realized that the chairs looked to be very, very small. I chose a seat and headed towards what I didn't know at that moment was going to be shear disaster. I sat my very professional notebook down on the table, greeted some people I knew, and went back to my seat. To my astonishment and embarrassment I couldn't fit into the chair. I was finally able to wiggle my way into the front part of the chair, but sat through the 3 hour meeting scared to death that when I would stand up the chair would come with me. I made a vow to myself that day that I was going to change my life...
So, now I am into week 4 of my lifestyle change and have lost 23 pounds so far! I am feeling great and looking forward to what is to come!
