I gotta tell ya.. taking some of that pressure off feels amazing.. i get to focus on everything my body is doing and not how everything i do is increasing my weight...

i did a little experiment. I weighed myself upon entering the gym... after 25 mins on the elliptical, 15 mins sport training on the bike, 15 mins of weight training, and 10 mins in the dry sauna (got a late start so didn't have as much time)... i lost .7 lbs! i know its all sweat which made me feel good that the water is releasing from my body, but wow.. almost 3/4 of a pound in about an hour!.. crazy.

it was just something interesting to do...

another interesting thing was after the final weigh in, i was slightly under the weight i recorded in my last weigh in.. slightly is ok since i'm going for only half a pound a week. Imagine i hit my 145 goal without meaning to!?? B/c seriously my goal is to go hard till my goal date regardless of the scale.. so if i hit 155 early, i'm gonna keep going till January 13th, especially if i'm not a size 8 by then.

Another interesting thing is that i'm still 2.2 lbs more than my lowest weight, yet my waist measured an inch smaller...didn't officially measure with the gym rep, just did it myself.. and was like NIIIIICE!...

Starting to get back to where this was fun and exciting :)

I totally agree with you about the pressure thing. The problem is that I keep putting unneeded pressure on myelf without even thinking about it. Ugh, I have to stop doing that. Anyways congratulations on your smaller waist. I wouldn't be surprised if you hit your goal without even really trying!

Great job on getting rid of the needless pressure! You have to love that tape measure! They don't lie like the scale does.

i think the pressure made it harder to keep up with.. now that i took it off a little by making my goal smaller and easier (sort of).. it seems effortless... mainly i'm doing the same thing and probably losing the same weight but now the amount i have to lose is less so it feels easier..lol.. make sense?

You are right about that!! I have been ready to toss mine out of the window! I do know that it will have a good purpose when I get to maintenance. I intend on using it to stay in the range I want to be in. A constant reminder to keep my eating under control. Actually, now that I think about it, that is something I have never done. I have only used it when I was wanting to lose weight and then ignored it when it was giving me the warning signs. hmmmm... I guess I need to really think about this one.

I am so happy for you love. It's so wonderful when the light bulb comes on. One inch on the waist that is awesome. I was reading your journal and thinking about myself, because yes I have been maintaining but I am not as strong or firm as I used to be. The weight in the same but I am not the same just like ur waist being smaller. Gotta love the tape measure.

@datadoll - yeah good point... that's the reason i actually weigh myself at the gym everyday but don't document it.. and why i wnat to keep weighing in every friday to make it a habit... i hated being scared of the scale. @steph.. thank you!!.. yeah i decided "eff the scale" and work my body hard with weights and just definition.. its insane the diff in just a couple weeks!.. i look in teh mirror at the gym as i lift and i'm in shock at how different my body looks... the scale means nothing when u know ur doing the right stuff.

I need to remember to rely on the tape measure instead of the scale, but the scale would be nice too. Glas to hear you are doing well and good luck on your goal I am sure you will make it!
