Day 3 of Madness! I worked out last night! I had a mom of the year moment in order to do it though. Hubby took the 9 yr old with him to the bowling alley so it was just me and little man. He's a busy lil bug. He hates being confined in any way. It makes feeding him, changing him, and putting him in his own bed a little bit of a challenge. He's only 10 months and he already has the worm move down pat. You know when you're carrying a kid and they suddenly go limp noodle, throw their hands over their head, and wiggle. Yup.. thats him. Sooooooo In order to throw a dvd in the machine and workout for 30 minutes I had to use some bribery. Little man ate 3 teething cookies. Every ten minutes I had to bribe the little guy to stop yelling AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! And attempting to break out of his high chair. Little guy is going to figure it out soon. He's already prying at the sides where the latches are. I never did get the relaxing cooldown in though. It's a lil hard to slow youre breathing and just relax when it sounds like the kid is dying from boredom in the high chair. I was going to have to chase him for another hour before bedtime anyways... whats the point of cooling down?! So yup.. I fed my kid cookies while I tried to burn off all the cookies that are currently stuck to my butt. Mother of the year!

So far no soda.. ate a little too much but nothing more than what I know I burned. So no deficit.. but no gain either. I could have done better but I was up late trying to type up land contracts and do paperwork for the farm. Up late + tired as all heck = I think I need food. Hopefully tonight I can get a lil time on the eliptical. Maybe... Hubby has to pick up little man from the sitter at 1 today and I don't get home till 5:30. They may be too tramatized to spend another half hour together.

Ha, the irony of the cookie bribe so you can work off cookies! I don't know how you do it with the kiddos & farm stuff! Way to get the workout done!

Oooooh I had one of those with the expert level worm move! He got out of the harness of his car seat in the car going down the highway and was waving at traffic-I had to tell the husband to SLOWLY move to the side of the road and stop, as his normal reaction to "we need to stop" is to slam on the brakes and slew to the side of the road. We got a five point harness shortly after that, with clips instead of easy release buttons, and I stashed a roll of duct tape in the glove box (just kidding) (no, not really kidding). In any case-I'm sure your little man will have burned off all the cookies just trying to make a clean escape!

I didn't have time to read your writing sample last night so went back to it this morning. Your words created a flashback (substitute swimming ducks for cows - LOL), right down to the humiliating panic of being seen and thinking one might not be able to make it back to the car. Verdict: 2 thumbs up!

At least you got the workout in. I agree with CollyMP the little man burned all those cookies off before you even got him out of the high chair. I've said if I moved exactly like my kids for one day I'd probably burn so many calories I wouldn't need to do an exercise DVD. How long were you in labor? The hubby can deal with 30 extra minutes of kid time, it's not the end of the world. Remind him that 30 minutes of exercise for you will mean more years of happiness and health.

Mars I like to say I was in labor for a week because the little man kept giving me contractions on and off for at least that long. I think I was ready to head to the hospital at least 4 times then they stopped. At the hospital though about 12 hours. When they said push about 5 minutes. lol Squats do wonders for labor!
