Holding steady. Just saw my hormone/weight loss dr. Learned something new which is very helpful for the psychological frustration. A week and a half ago I was diagnosed with Gastritis w/erosion of my stomach lining. Stress induced. It’s been one hit after another this past year and half on top of my already difficult Health issues. So anyway, the dr put me on carafate to coat my stomach before every meal so the lining can heal. I noticed that I was feeling better pain-wise but that I felt so full and puffy. So today I’m telling this dr what happened and he says “oh. Well yes. Carafate has steroids in it. It causes retention. So you’ve still lost a couple pounds in 2 weeks even with that working against you.” I said “what? It has steroids in it!? No wonder!” Because when I had my big drop the other day, it was two days after cutting my carafate dose in half. No coincidence I guess!! Good to know. I will be much more patient with my body now as it heals. ❤️

Yep. Many meds will cause weight gain. I had one that was doing the same; when I stopped taking it my loss pace doubled.

Dog gone steroid medications. They always cause weight gain. I know, I was on a steroid medication for 8 months one time. I gained a whole bunch of weight. So watch out.

Thank god it’s not prednisone! This is a med that coats my esophagus as it goes down, and then the stomach lining. Like a mylanta on steroids lol. I had no idea it had steroids in it. So glad I was able to cut my dose in half and soon I won’t need it at all. They said it should cause me to gain but it will slow down the progress, which I already saw. But, future stomach cancer isn’t something I want so I’ll deal with a slower loss progress 😳
