Hubby is my workout partner yet it’s the same for us. We stick to machines and dumbbells though. When we go to the bench and he has me spot him I’m terrified and the ‘what ifs’ go through my head lol. How in the heck am I gonna lift 300+# if I have to? More than likely grab one end and top it off of him (since that’s 150+). Men don’t compliment us as much as we’d like to hear it I think. They assume we just know if they like something or if something impresses them. I’ve begun pointing out when I raise my weights or occasionally just finding my 1RM. THEN and only then does he go ‘oh wow that’s great honey!’ Lol.

Thanks, John!! 😊 Peeper- the thing about spotting is that he is still going to be able to push it- you're just going to have to lift enough (with his help) to not kill him. LMAO. It isn't hard. Truth be told- I don't compliment David as much either. I mean sometimes I shoot a text across the gym like- "Damn...traps are looking good" but I guess we just get used to how each of us is. I'll compliment your muscles any day, peeper- you look great.

Going to check out bodybuilding.com. Thanks for the suggestion. Any particular app that’s good for keeping track of your progress? Since I started I just use Notes on my phone to keep track of what I’m doing. But I swear I spend more time correcting “autocorrect” than putting my info in!

laraae- lol. David uses the bodyspace app from bodybuilding.com I think Chris uses something, too. I only use my memory and will occasionally make a note so I remember when I am using heavier weights and increasing in strength but other than what muscles I trained (though science is showing full body 5x/wk is best- I still do splits) and how long it was- I don't record anything else. I am sure there are a ton so maybe someone else can answer as to what's best.

I use notes too for measurements and handwrite my weights for workouts. Thanks princess! I’ll compliment your leg press any day! You press like 2x as much as my max and 3x as much as my normal (when I bother to do them). It’s quite impressive! (You’re not mine lol). Thanks for letting me know in the bench. I won’t worry so much then. I know when I’m scared or angry I can lift more. Normally I’d say in the spotters position I could lift maybe 100 straight up like that but maybe 125-150 if I’m upset. Surely he can raise the other 150-200# lol. Whew now I know I won’t let him croak (dang and the life ins is good too haha totally joking there btw!- as in I want him living!)
