Off to my doctors office this morning to push to get blood tests done. I want to get a baseline of all my health issues/levels: thyroid, iron, blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. Once I know where I am and what I'm still missing or overdoing it on, I'll be able to adjust my diet accordingly.

I really hope my thyroid levels come back normal. Last time they were WAY off. Hypothyroidism sucks. Wish me luck!

I did get the hypothyroidism book from library (comment May20th). It said the best way to monitor your thyroid is thru lab tests. The other option given is to monitor the side effects i.e. weight gain, tired... I was diagnosed last March. My lab work has been repeated every 3 months except when it was low and the drugs increased, then 6 weeks. I'm Canadian so luckily all these dr appts and tests are covered thru my government plan. Let me know how your dr appt goes. The book also said something about watching your cholesterol. I haven't ready read why yet. The book is "Hypothyroidism : an essential guide for the newly diagnosed / by Pratt, Maureen". There were a lot to choose from. I've only read the first few chapters but so far good. Sandra
