HCB's Journal, 29 November 2012

The emotional eating chart from yesterday was familiar to many of us. I have been sore lately so, after work, I went for a massage that loosened things up quite a bit.

Too bad though, I didn't get home until nearly 9pm and felt like it was too late for dinner - so I had oatmeal...and cottage cheese...and cornflakes...WTF....cornflakes? No milk...just cornflakes. My DH eats a bowl of cereal before bed EVERY night and I just decided to crunch away. Of course, this exceeded my carbs for the day! DH eats a lot of carbs every day - so it is a constant struggle to stick with the protein, protein, protein.

Today's food plan is set-up well. I just need to follow it and avoid the DH...LOL

My mantra: Low fat, low carb, high protein...Low fat, low carb, high protein...Low fat, low carb, high protein...

EDIT: WTF? Cocoa Krispies tonight? Geesh - the carb monster is really strong!

Still grateful for:

- The people I love who love me back!
- The good health of my loved ones
- My FS Buddies who support and encourage me to continue
- "Butt-kicking" myself to a smaller size today

HCB- too funny about the cornflakes--you do so great, I only wish I was as disciplined as you are --it is certainly working for you and I know you will follow your mantra :)

Your discipline is very inspiring...especially with the food! I need to step my game up for sure. After looking at your food diaries I have a better idea of what I need to eat. I have been staying under my rdi, but my fat and carbs are outrageous.

Yeah, those dang guys can really mess up a girl's food plan, can't they?? My FI will bring a big bag of chips over to the couch at like 9:30 while we're watching TV/doing school work, and I generally mindlessly grab a few. Not last night though! Temptations......

I fully understand - doing anything "off schedule" throws my eating plan into a tail spin. Next time try chocolate syrup on the cornflakes - LOL.

I'm proud to be one of those buddies. And again, apologies for pronouncing you dead. LOL.

I get Cheerios in the Caramel flavor - half a cup now and then for my 'crunchy nite snack' - they are 'small' and I force myself to eat them with my fingers ONE at a TIME so I have time to realize I'm satisfied. This is what *I* have instead of the ice cream MH has! Will check out the cornflakes though :-)

There are CARAMEL cheerios?!???? Oh my gosh. You shouldn't have told me that.....!! :)

I am with erika2633: CARAMEL CHEERIOS?????? Not a good thing to know!!

Can you imagine? Years ago we were probably eating cereal EVERY day for breakfast! I know I was. It was part of the "daily hoard up of grains" we were told would keep us thin and healthy. Now the enemy - eggs and meat - are back on the menu. I couldn't be happier. HCB you are getting soooo close to your goal a few flakes and oats will definitely be allowed!!!

peanut butter cherrios too! SO GOOD! Can't buy 'em or I'll eat them all.

The Peanut butter ones are AMAZING the caramel ones are good too, and so are the cinnamon. But peanut butter is my weekness. Although I kept portions and calories in check I had it for breakfast and dinner more than once. I won't allow myself to buy them anymore.

LOL - I'm cautious about my carbs too - I just find it an interesting trade off for a night snack. If I eat them sllllloooowww one at a time, I find I am snack satisfied with the 3/4 cup serving. Now, the Cinammon Wheat Chex, oy, they set off such a sugar monster craving in me I had trouble sleeping - no more of THAT even if they are gluten free!

Awe low fat makes it even harder! I don't think I could live without macadamias, cashews, and almonds. Love that natural fat! Mm hmm!

HCB, you are totally welcome to the occasional bowl of cornflakes. I know you will get back on track with your protein, no problem. Just think of all the shit you used to eat, if you were like me. In ONE day, just ONE day, and the whole time thinking that I was being healthy, I would eat like a bagel for breakfast, sandwich on a crossaint with potato salad for lunch, and pizza for dinner. I would SERIOUSLY eat all this crap in ONE DAY! And think that I was being "reasonable". You could probably tell stories of all the carbs you used to eat all the time, too. You will be fine, tomorrow is another day, and you will just extra butt kick, extra eat egg whites and skinless chicken breast, and just extra work it out. You're doing great!

THANKS to all my Buddies! I NEED the pep talk today because the Carb Monster is In The House!

I put my cornflakes on top of vanilla ice cream, drizzle it with honey, and shake coarse salt over it. That's ridiculous!
