Day One.. Fail sorta. Ok kinda pass but not really. I did so well until dinner! Actually I did great all the way through dinner. It was when hubby decided to order dessert that I failed. BUT I did only have 2 bites. That's it. I let the 8-yr old and hubby devour the rest. So.. sorta fail because I did have sweets but kind of a pass because I didn't throw in the towel after the first bite and say what the heck and lick the chocolate syrup off the table. :) Tomorrow I will do better.
I managed to go grocery shopping with just me and the kids. We didn't buy any cookies or ice cream. Just the usual chips and crap for hubby that I won't be tempted by. I've challenged the 8 yr old to give up sugar for a week. I honestly don't think she can do it. After watching her eat that dessert as fast as she could then say she was too full to finish her dinner.... it was eye opening. We're doing the challenge together. No sugar, no candy, no sugary cereals, no sugar anything for a week. We will see if she can do it. At least this way it's a challenge so I know she's going to watch me like a hawk and wait for me to slip. It's like having my own private food monitoring alarm.
Wish me luck!

I don't call that a fail! 2 bites? I think that you are doing great. Keep remembering why you want to do this, it really helps. Lets have a loss on Monday!

Only 2 bites? That is not enough to consider a fail! It is a success in my book and I love that you are getting your daughter involved. No matter what happens it will open her eyes to start paying attention!

Food Monitoring Alarm = 8 yr old kid - Priceless!

I like the idea of using your kids as a dieting tool. I think only two bites is a success, if it was me I would have inhaled that whole dessert and then maybe had two or three more.

Two bites is good, like you said you could have licked the syrup off the table, but had a taste and sat back and watched others eat it! Good job!

I think those two bites demonstrate to you that low carb may very well work for you. The higher protein helps you resist carb temptations. Stopping at a taste gives you your self control back. Congratulations!
