jl89's Journal, 13 September 2012

I'm a little bit upset...I've gained almost two pounds...in one week? Is it muscle? I've been eating less/healthier and exercising more. How does that equal gaining weight? I've even been drinking more water trying to flush the salt from my system. Can it be I'm retaining water? That seems like a lot of water. I was supposed to record my weight today, but I decided I wanted to do it on Fridays (it goes with one of my challenges). I don't want to record it because I feel somewhat depressed. I haven't recorded my food/exercise yet either. I decided to do that on Fridays as well. I have it written down in a notebook. I'm just feeling kind of down because of the gain. I hope that there is some explanation for this. I just don't understand. Maybe tomorrow I will wake up and my weight will be lower?

Ah well, I'll just keep trying. I know if I keep this up I can lose weight in no time...or a long time...whenever as long as it happens. I must go put my dd to bed now.

It's nothing to worry about, or to get down about either. Sometimes, the scale will say a higher number then before, it does not mean you body is not changing. Take measurements you would be amazed at that, because even though it don't show on the scale, it will in measurements. Keep it up and don't be so depressed. I once gained 9 pounds in 1 week, kelpt at my diet plan and working out, and the next week I was down 15!

If you just started a new diet that will do it too. Your body is adjusting to the lower calories. The first week, it think wait, your working harder and feeding me less! So your body starts to retain more so you gain. You need to find a healthy medium. If you go from little to no exercise to an hour a day you need to eat more not less because you are burning more.
