I started Power 90 (the precursor to P90X) yesterday...my body seems to be a little in protest mode, but I am looking forward to the weight loss and body sculpting that will happen as I keep going with it. Combined with watching what I eat, I am hopeful that I will see great changes. Also, I gained a little weight, but I think my body is just fluctuating as it tries to get used to the workouts, because I have been watching what I eat - so I'm not going to let this one get me down - I'm sure it will look much better next week! :)

Remember when you first start a new exercise program that your muscles become sore and retain water to help them heal. It can show on the scale as a temporary gain, small loss or no loss. It takes time for you muscles to get used to new exercise. Take your measurements as you lose fat and inches. You will get smaller and lean. Google "why the scale lies" for an explanation on water weight fluctuations. If the scale shows a gain when your doing everything right, then you know it's water and just keep going. It all evens out.

Thank you, Suzi61 - I did not know that. That is really helpful and encouraging! I did take all of my measurements - so hopefully I will be seeing progress in that area soon too! :)
