I have trouble with calcium and vitamin D. I’m at a normal place for normal people. However my oncologist keeps reminding me that my normal has changed and I need double what the average person needs. More if possible to keep the osteopenia from going to osteoporosis. It’s hard to remember to take something every couple of hours though 😳. I have major issues swallowing big pills so it’s chewables for me. 5-10 for vitamin d depending on the day (she has me increase it twice a week) and 2 a day for calcium. I can take up to 2 vit d with 1 calcium at a time with at least 2-3 hours between. I guess it’s also best that I take my multivitamin at a different time as well as my skin supplement. 😳 Add to that 2 antidepressants and it’s like I’m a pill popping junkie haha. Except that all are chewable other than the antidepressant.

I don't absorb pills well I prefer my suppliments to be in powder form and add them to water to drink during the day. most calcium suppliments are very difficult to absorb so you get less absorbed then you think. canned salmon with the bones has both a good source of vitamin D and calcium. If you can tolerate eating that it might help. I don't blame you to feel that way I would hate to take pills all day too.

Nothing fishy for me except tuna :/. I was told the tums type of calcium is more digestible so I grabbed some of that. Forgot to ask which is better caltrate or citrate though. My family dr said if nothing else take tums.

I had a college professor who are a piece of chalk for the first day. Everyone just gagged. Then he said this is the stuff Tums was made of.
