Last night was a night of indulgence. It was our 22nd anniversary, and we went out for dinner at The Capital Grille. It was an exceptional dinner, which included wine...an amazing Shiraz,...and sampling the best, the absolute very best, flourless chocolate cake I have ever tasted. I even had a small piece of bread (loaded with butter!). And of course steak. A honking, huge steak. 24 oz.!!! of Porterhouse steak. I did not finish it, although I estimate I ate close to 2/3 of it! We also had some carpaccio with an arugula salad, and a spinach salad with warm bacon dressing. Even the green beans with heirloom tomatoes were delish.

The best part...didn't gain a pound! Of course this could be a bit of dehydration from the wine. But, I also was eating less than usual the rest of the day. And, even though my carbs were much higher than usual, the percent of my total calories for the day was still about 11%. Not bad.

I love eating out in places like this. It doesn't happen too often...maybe once every year or three. But it was fun. They knew it was our anniversary, and so our table had rose petals scattered down the center. So each person who came to our table knew it was our anniversary, and congratulated us. There was also a card signed by several members of the staff.

And the service was excellent. Attentive but unobtrusive. With some excellent recommendations for wine for spacing out the salads. One was tart, the other slightly sweet. In succession, they were perfect.

I did have a little pain in my hips last night. That's okay. No more bread for a long time for me. I enjoyed it, but I have no problem getting right back on track. The same with the dessert. I had three or four bites. Loved it, but was completely satisfied to leave it at that.

Our marriage came close to coming apart at the seams a few years back. But now, it is stronger and better than before. For this, I am thankful and appreciative for each anniversary we celebrate together. And I want to be even healthier so we can spend many, many more years together.

Outstanding. 0 pounds of weight and many pounds of great memories. I'm starting to think our small keto group is the emotionally happiest group on FS. It's the butter.

The butter does help! We have consumed a pound and a half of the good stuff, between my DH, DD and me, since Thursday! Plus of course, whatever we ate last night. :) Thank God there is a Trader Joe's in town! Heaven forbid I run out of Kerrygold.

For me, its incredible. I wouldn't have experienced the joy of unsalted kerrygold had it not been for your bullet coffee. While I've had to lay off the coffee until I fix the sleep issue, keeping the butter has helped my blood sugar. Even better, I genuinely think it has increased my overall emotional well-being. Weird.

I am so glad to hear that you are having such great benefits from this change in your diet. It is funny how little tweaks can sometimes make a huge difference.
