Why can't I stop eating potato chips?!

:-(

They are all I want to eat. Fortunately, it's not all I've been eating, but I have been eating more than usual this week. I think that if I had a healthier potato option available at all times, I would be able to choose it instead.

So maybe I should keep potatoes (both regular and sweet) on hand to zap in the microwave for quick eating or bake for later... Maybe that would help.

I shall try this, and get back to you.

Hey GG, Read your last post and this one. No worries about the potatoes. I completely sympathize. I hope you are doing well and that the breakup went as well as could be expected. It's TOUGH trying to diet (at least for me) when emotional stress is dominant in my life. Trying to keep that to a minimum. You are in my prayers.

Some people just crave salty stuff and some crave sweet but we can overcome those cravings. I am the sweet addict and I hate it. We can do it though :) I keep thinking to myself so many people have done it before me, so I can do it too :)

Sweet potato fries are awesome. Unfortunately, it's really hard to eat the serving size but they are super easy to make and much better than potato chips. Or bake up a bunch of sweet pots in the oven (I think they taste weird in the micro, unlike white pots which come out similar) and eat with cinnamon and a little salt, a little butter. You can keep them in the fridge for a few days. Throw all the potato chips out and if you want something crunchy and salty eat celery with salsa. At first it won't satisfy but you'll get used to it. I read this interesting book called Potatoes not Prozac. Long story, but we get an emotional, biochemical boost from eating things like potatoes. Which is ok, as long as we keep it on the healthy side. (The author says potatoes are fine vs something like white bread or a piece of cake.) Even oven-baked potato skins--even WITH cheese AND a little bacon, time-consuming to make but so good--will be better than potato chips.

Woops. Just realize you posted this awhile ago and are now feeling better. Happy to hear that.
